Mangalore, June 8: In spite of allegations of sexual harassment surfacing against Nityananda Swami of Bidadi, the state government has not taken stern action, alleged senior Congress leader B Janardana Poojary.
Addressing media persons at a press meet in Mangalore on Friday, Mr. Poojary said that other than charges of rape, Nityananda's ashram witnessed assault on media persons too which should have prompted state government to take action against the self-proclaimed godman.
Stating that law and order situation had fallen apart in the state, Mr. Poojary said that voters of the Teachers' and Graduates' constituencies must teach a lesson to the BJP in the scheduled Legislative Council polls.
'Team Anna can't see corruption in BJP ruled states'
Mr. Poojary on the occasion said that Anna Hazare and his team have been turning a blind eye on the corruption in Karnataka and Gujarat.
“The state government has weakened the institution of Lokayukta in Karnataka. In Gujarat, a Lokayukta has not been appointed at all. If Anna Hazare and his team are really concerned about having a strong Lokpal Bill for the country, why aren't they pointing out to the nation about the corruption in BJP ruled states?”, Mr. Poojary asked.
