Mangalore, June 14: Cheques to concerned people have been distributed off the Rs. 17.37 lakhs that have been released from Mangalore MP Nalin Kumar Kateel's Local Area Development (LAD) Fund for a total of 8 developmental works, a release from the office of the Deputy Commissioner has stated.
Of the Rs. 2 lakh that were sanctioned for the road development work in the Arbi ST colony of Ujire village in Belthangady taluk, cheques worth Rs. 1.5 lakh were distributed. Similarly, Rs. 1.5 lakhs were released for the development of Melanthabettu-Mundooru road in the same taluk.
Other projects for which funds were released include Yavaltodi anganavadi building construction project at Karambaru village (Rs.2.25 lakhs), anganavadi building construction project at Mundaaje village (Rs.75,000), compound wall for Mittabaagilu Gram Panchayat Kadirudyavara Kodialbail Higher Primary School (Rs. 75,000), development of Nirachilume Arbi road in Ujire (Rs.75,000), Mangalore University College's Business Management block (first floor) and ladies room construction (Rs.5 lakhs), drainage work at Bangrakulur (Rs.1.12 lakhs), and concretization of road from Bantwal taluk's Porlippady to Manjinagadde (Rs. 3.75 lakhs).
