Mogling bust to be unveiled on KACES Day

Mangalore, July 4: The Karnataka Christian Educational Society will be celebrating its annual day on Friday, July 6, remembering the contributions of its founder secretary Rt. Rev. Dr. C D Jathanna and also its past secretaries Rt. Rev. Dr. C L Furtado and Rt. Rev. Dr. J S Sadanada.

Announcing this at a press meet here on Wednesday, Rev. Dr. D R Sadanada, Treasurer, KACES, said that renowned Kannada writer Na D'Souza would be the chief guest and would unveil the bust of rev. Hermann Mogling, the founder principal of the Karnataka Theological College. P B Harish Rai, President, Dakshina Kannada Working Journalists' Union, would be the guest of honour.

On this occasion, H N Venkatesh Prasanna, CCB Inspector will also be felicitated on being the first researcher of the Kannada Theological Research Institute to be conferred PhD for this research titled 'Swatantra-poorva Karnatakadalli Police Vyavasthe' by the Kannada Hampi University.

Rev. Sandeep Theophil, Public Relations Officer, KACES, K Sagar Sundar Raj and Janet Jayamani, Conveners, KACES Day programme, were present at the press meet.

Tumuku, Jul 6: Senior Congress leader and Kunigal MLA Dr H D Ranganathm tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday.

The 48-year-old Congress legislature, a doctor by himself, was admitted to Manipal hospital and recovering, he said in a tweet.

Dr Ranganath said he took all precautions, yet could not save himself from the virus and advice people to not to take the contagion lightly.

Udupi, Jan 7: Eshapriya Teertha Swamiji, who was appointed as the junior Swamiji of Admar Math, would be ascending the 'Paryaya Peeta' for the first time on January 18, Vishwapriya Theertha Swamiji of Admar Math said.

Speaking to the media at Admar Moola Math at Admar near Padubidri on Monday night Vishwapriya Teertha Swamiji of Admar Math said, 'I had performed my first Paryaya in 1988-90 with the help of Shri Vishwapriya Teertharu.

'The second Paryaya was performed independently by the order of Shri Vibudhesha Teertharu in 2004-06.

Bengaluru, Mar 16: Hundreds of people gathered to felicitate the newly appointed Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president DK Shivakumar in Bengaluru on Monday.

"Everyone is a team, I'm not alone. We all are together and we will work together," Kumar had said after his appointment.

Shivakumar was appointed as the chief of Karnataka Congress last week on Wednesday.

Party leaders Eshwar Khandre, Satish Jarkiholi and Saleem Ahmed were appointed working presidents of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee.
