Mangalore, July 7: Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah on Saturday predicted that the change of guard in Karnataka would only worsen the infighting in crisis-ridden saffron party.
His statement comes after BJP leaders are mulling for a change in leadership in the state by making a Lingayat strongman Jagadish Shettar as CM replacing Gowda.
Responding to the queries of media persons at Mangalore Airport before participating in Congress party's public awareness programme against the maladministration of the BJP led state government in the city, Mr Siddaramaiah said that there was no future of Bharatiya Janata Party in Karnataka.
He said that even though the BJP replaced Karnataka Chief Minister Sadanand Gowda with Lingayat leader Jagadish Shettar, the problems in ruling party would not subside.
“There is high chance of backlash from Gowda camp, which would further destabilise the already battered party” the Congress leader said.
It is worth mentioning here that Mr Gowda earlier this week had warned the BJP high command asking them to restrain from taking decision in haste. He also warned that the people of the state would not accept the changes made in haste and would teach a lesson for the party.
