Karwar, July 16: The ubiquitous photographs of bollywood celebrities have travelled a long distance - from neighbourhood compounds to bedroom walls to cellphone screensavers. But, ever on an examination record? It seems the barrier is surpassed this time.

Call it an obsession or a mistake, the nominal roll sheet pertaining to a competitive examination for recruitment of high school teachers, had the photograph of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan printed against the name of a job-seeker. The examination is conducted by Centralised Admission Cell.

The blooper came to light at the government high school test centre in Karwar on Sunday. The roll sheet had the photograph of 'Bacchhan bahu' printed against the name of Narayana Gonda (register no 2199534), a job aspirant. Gonda, however, saved himself from an ordeal, by absenting himself for the examination.

The invigilators brought the matter to the notice of their superiors and the deputy director of public instruction, Revanasiddappa, visited the examination centre for a verification.

“The applications have been received online this time. The Centralised Admission Cell conducts the examination and all the papers are supplied from the Cell. We have informed the higher ups about the gaffe,” Revanasiddappa told Deccan Herald.Anyway, Aishwarya has broken another barrier.
