The State Election Commission (SEC) has already begun declaring the results. The quickness in the announcement of results is owing to the use of the electronic voting machines (EVMs) in the polls for the first time.

Dakshina Kannada

In Dakshina Kannada, where 677 candidates contested from 189 wards in seven urban local bodies including the Mangalore City Corporation, the counting process began at 8 am, in all the seven counting centres in the district.
