An 'Aati Kalenja' (the character attached to belief system of Tulunadu) started the campaign by distributing post cards to public here.
Dinesh Holla of Vanya Charana Balaga speaking about post card campaign told media persons that many people from Bangalore Rural, Kolar, Tumkur and Chikkaballapur districts had sent memorandum to the government demanding water but so far nobody from Dakshina Kannada has demanded the government to withdraw 'Yethinahole project', which has been conceived to supply water to those areas.
"Through sending postcards to Chief Ministers and Ministers concerned we are trying to voice our wants," he said.
Calling the Yethinahole Water Diversion Project's Feasibility report to be a misleading and unrealistic one, Mr Holla said that government should wake up to the situation and avert a major damage to the natural resources by withdrawing the project.
Through post card campaign Vanya Charana Balaga will spread awareness message and get people to know about consequences. Campaign will be taken to every corner of the district, Dinesh Holla briefed.
