Ms. Banerjee said that six party ministers led by Railway Minister Mukul Roy will submit their resignations to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at 3 p.m. on Friday, which she said was the Jumma day (day of prayers for the devout Muslims).
The decisions follow Trinamool's opposition ro the rush of reform measures, including Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in multi brand retail and decision on curtailing supply of subsidised domestic LPG cylinders, announced by the Centre last week. “We will launch protests against these decisions all over the country” she said.
Ms. Banerjee said that she had sent a message four days ago to Sonia Gandhi, UPA Chairperson, saying that she could not go by these decisions. I respect her and my personal relations with her will continue,” she said.
