New Delhi, October 7: Realty major DLF on Saturday rejected the allegations that it had given unsecured loans to Robert Vadra in a ‘quid pro quo’ for favours and said it had transparent dealings with him as an individual entrepreneur.

In a statement, the company said it had given him Rs. 65 crore as “business advance” of which Rs. 15 crore was fully refunded and Rs. 50 crore was used for purchase of land.

Rejecting the allegations of activists Arvind Kejriwal and Prashant Bhushan that the company favoured Mr. Vadra, DLF said it neither received any undue benefit from any State government nor was it allotted any land by the Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan governments.

DLF also dismissed the charge that the company sold properties to Mr. Vadra and his companies at a throwaway price.

“We would like to state that the business relationship of DLF with Mr. Vadra or his companies has been in his capacity as an individual entrepreneur, on a completely transparent and at an arm’s length basis,” DLF said. The business relationship with Mr. Vadra had been conducted in the highest standards of ethics, the company said.

“We wish to categorically state that DLF has given no unsecured loans to Mr. Vadra or any of his companies. An amount of Rs. 65 crore was given as business advance for the purchase of land in two transactions,” it added.

DLF said it purchased 3.5 acres in Gurgaon from Skylight Hospitality for Rs. 50 crore in 2008-09.

“At no stage was an interest-free loan ever given to the Skylight group. There were two sets of business advance against purchase of property, one of which amounting to Rs. 50 crore resulted in a satisfactory conclusion of purchase of commercial land and the second advance of Rs. 15 crore was fully refunded,” it added.

DLF also said that “it is not unusual for parties which sell land to DLF to choose to reinvest the consideration received or part thereof in projects being developed by DLF.”

“There is no question of offering, let alone selling, to Mr. Vadra or his group companies any property at a throwaway price. The allegation that 7 apartments in Magnolias were sold for Rs. 5.2 crore only is also completely baseless. At no stage was a property ever sold to the Skylight group below the then offered price to all customers,” DLF said.

New Delhi, May 6: The government on Wednesday said no data or security breach has been identified in Aarogya Setu after an ethical hacker raised concerns about a potential security issue in the app.

The app is the government's mobile application for contact tracing and disseminating medical advisories to users in order to contain the spread of coronavirus.

On Tuesday, a French hacker and cyber security expert Elliot Alderson had claimed that "a security issue has been found" in the app and that "privacy of 90 million Indians is at stake".

Dismissing the claims, the government said "no personal information of any user has been proven to be at risk by this ethical hacker".

"We are continuously testing and upgrading our systems. Team Aarogya Setu assures everyone that no data or security breach has been identified," the government said through the app’s Twitter handle.

The tweet gave point-by-point clarification on the red flags raised by the hacker.

"We discussed with the hacker and were made aware of the following... the app fetches user location on a few occasions," it said, but added that this was by design and is clearly detailed in the privacy policy.

The app fetches users’ location and stores on the server in a secure, encrypted, anonymised manner - at the time of registration, at the time of self assessment, when users submit their contact tracing data voluntary through the app or when it fetches the contact tracing data of users after they have turned COVID-19 positive, it said.

On another issue that users can get COVID-19 stats displayed on the home screen by changing the radius and latitude-longitude using a script, Aarogya Setu said that all this information is already public for all locations and hence does not compromise on any personal or sensitive data.

"We thank the ethical hacker on engaging with us. We encourage any users who identify a vulnerability to inform us immediately...," it said.

Responding to Aarogya Setu's clarification, Alderson tweeted, "I will come back to you tomorrow".

Hyderabad, Jul 12: Hyderabad MP and All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday condemned the demolition of a mosque and a temple inside the Secretariat building. He demanded the arrest of the contractor for demolition.
"During the process of demolition of the Secretariat building in Telangana, the mosque and temple were also demolished. The contractor must be booked and should be arrested. The public should know that we condemn this," he said while speaking to news agency.
Pointing out that his party MLAs Akbaruddin Owaisi and Moazam Khan have urged the state Assembly to look into the matter, he added, "We are not against the building of a new Secretariat, but what we asked for is not to destroy these structures during the process."
He welcomed the Chief Minister's announcement regarding the rebuilding of these structures.
"We expect the mosque to be built in the exact same place where it once stood. We expect the Chief Minister to speak to the representatives and meet our expectations and emotions about the mosque," he added.
