Beyond Remittance: NRI Conference begins today in Kuwait

Kuwait City, February 9: the first Middle East NRI conference based on a theme “Beyond Remittance: Can an ordinary NRI save for his retirement” will begin in Kuwait on Thursday at Hotel Ramada International Reggae.

The event organized by Kuwait Kerala Muslim Association (KKMA) and the Foundation for Enhancing Expatriates Life (FEEL) along with State Bank of Travancore (SBT) would focus and explore different ideas and characteristics of savings products that can facilitate the commitment to save by lower income group of NRIs; and how government can participate in such ventures.

The Beyond Remittance Conference is expected to come up with a set of recommendations to improve the impact of remittances by encouraging saving and investment habits among NRIs. The conference shall help identifying key issues and make appropriate recommendations for action by the government authorities, financial institutions and organizations for developing savings schemes aimed at NRI rehabilitation and retirement income.

The two-day Conference will begin today with an Experts Dialogue session participated by financial experts, business executives and social leaders will be conducted to review the role of government, financial institutes and social welfare organizations in fostering financial inclusion of lower income NRIs. On Friday, the Ambassador of India Shri Satish C. Mehta will inaugurate the first ever NRI Conference discussing savings issues of lower income groups of Non Resident Indians. Featuring expert speakers from government, finance and social sectors and 500+ delegates, this is a unique opportunity for social leaders to gain invaluable insights into the financial concerns of ordinary NRIs and explore possibilities to assist them in securing their future.

Mr. M.M. Hasan, former minister for NRI Affairs in Kerala State, Padmashree holders of government of India Dr. Azad Moopen and CK Menon, NORKA Roots CEO Mr. Noyal Thomas, Managing Director of State Bank of Travancore, Mr. Nandakumaran P., SBT’s Chief Manager for International Banking Business Mr. Jyothish Kumar, UAE Exchange Company’s chief operating officer Mr. Sudhir Shetty, Mr. Pramod Mangatta, Global Operations Vice President along with prominent business and community leaders from Kuwait will attend in this Conference.

The experts and prominent personalities from multi fields, such Mr. Sunny Mathew ,Mr. John Mathew Arab Entertech Deputy Chairman, R Kuppanna Kuwait Indian Exchange General Manager, Mr. K.N. Das Lulu Exchange General Manager , Mr. Pancily Varkey Country Head UAE Exchange, Mr. K.P. Paulson, Strategic Head Alahli Bank Kuwait, Mr. Sala Ahmed Al Salah from Kuwait Inernational Bank, Mr. E.D. Titus Bahain Exchange Company, Mr. Rajesh Gairola Al Mulla Exchange Company, Mr. Rexy Willams Asset Avenues will present relevant papers at the Conference.

The Beyond Remittance Conference shall also witness dedication of the Foundation Foundation for Enhancing Expatriate Life (FEEL) and also honoring prominent personalities with NRI jewels award for their significant contribution for the welfare of NRIs in the gulf countries.

Dammam: Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka chapter distributed Food Kits for Indian expatriates labors who were in trouble due to Corona lockdown on April 6, 2020 at a labor camp here in Al Khobar.

The labors, most of them are from the staes of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh And Uttar Pradesh, were in trouble without food.

 Recieving the information leaders of Indian Social Forum immediately visited the camp to take survey.

Indian Social Forum with the help of donors distributed food kits. Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka Chapter president Mr.Mohammed Shareef Jokatte expressed gratitude for donors for their contribution.

Riyadh: On the occasion of 71st Republic Day of India, Karavali Welfare Association Riyadh (KWAR) conducted BLOOD DONATION CAMPAIGN on the 17th Jan 2020 at KING SAUD Universities King Khalid University Hospital, Riyadh. 

This is one of KWARs Prestigious Humanitarian EVENT every year, as we are indebted to serve the society for a Great Cause.

The campaign began at 08:30 am with a theme of Republic Day Celebrations and went on till 3:30 pm. Irrespective of Friday being a weekend and holiday people came in good numbers to donate Blood. The Hospital Staff, The Doctors and the Blood Bank Technicians and others at King Khalid University Hospital were more than happy to serve all those who have participated in this campaign.

KWAR Thanks all the Hospital Staff especially Mr. Salman Baqsh for his introduction of KWAR to Blood Bank and all the arrangements for this campaign, without his support this could not been done. Dr. Zafar Mahmoud for his wonderful support during the campaign and Mr. Abdullah Al Saman for his outstanding Hospitality throughout the campaign. KWAR also thanks all the donors who came all the way voluntarily for this Great Humanitarian Cause. As a token of gesture KWAR awarded Certificate of Appreciation to all the participants.

And KWAR would like to thank specially Mr. Nasir, Representative of Blood Helpline Karnataka, who encouraged many donors and made them to actively participate and donate blood for this noble cause.

KWAR’s core activities was on display on the screen, with most of the Committee members were present at the venue to serve the donors. KWAR thanks all the members, the Executive committee and all those who took their valuable time to organize this event successfully and thank all our well-wishers who supported us for the BLOOD DONATION CAMPAIGN. We in KWAR wish every Donor and the participants a healthy life ahead, and we need everyone's active participation in all our Future events.

Riyadh, Feb 24: Indian Islahi Center, Riyadh (IICR) kicked off the propagation campaign of "Learn the Quran" national conference, which is slated to be held on March 27, 2020 at Nofa Istiraha, Exit 18, Riyadh, Kingdom Saudi Arabia. It's IICR's 20th successful program.

Kerala Legislative Assembly's opposition leader & Congress leader, Ramesh Chennitthala inaugurated the campaign that was held at Voco Hotel in Riyadh, capital city of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Ramesh was on two days visit in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The objective of the campaign is to instil the keenness & to keep creating the continuous awareness amongst the community on Quran. It also enables to recite the Quran with Tajweed (science of reading the Quran) & correct form.

Aboobakker Edthanatukkara (President of IICR), Abdul Qayyum Bustani, Kunhi Kumbala, Abdullah Vallanchira, Adv.
