Tulu Koota Kuwait holds family picnic

Kuwait City, March 26: Yet another day filled with fun, frolic and entertainment was enjoyed as TuluKoota Kuwait presented a Family Picnic for all its members on March 23 at the Mishref Garden, Kuwait.

The Inauguration of the family picnic witnessed the hoisting of the TuluKoota Flag by the President Ramesh Kidiyoor. The flag hoisting was followed by march-past. The games were open by cutting of the ribbon and releasing the balloons into the dizzing heights of the sky by President and Sports Secretary. As a symbol of peace the advisory committee members and management committee members released doves on the occasion.

Toddlers were seen enjoying ‘passing the toy’ game, while children from 4-6 raced to clip the cloth and pick coin from the mud. Yet a little older children, aged 6-10 were seen racing to break balloons and racing to the finishing point with the Balloon between their legs. Boys aged 10-15 thoroughly enjoyed Lagori Solo and Kutti Donne, while girls of the same age played Lagori Solo and Tonka and Skipping race. Men were busy engrossed in Shot Put and TalembLadai-Pillow fight and Ladies spent their day with Sand Race and Pallya Tonka games. The team games of Kabbadi and Voleyball for men and Throwball for Women, gathered a large number of enthusiastic team participants.

The couple games Couple Cricket and Arbana race were the highlights of the day. While breaking the pot, open to all gathered a lot of interest among the crowds. It was a treat to watch the seniors actively participate in games specially tailored for them in Musical Chair and Passing the Tender Coconut.

Tasty breakfast was served by China Metro. Soft drinks were freely served throughout the event by Mr. Ibrahim Pinto. The lip smacking lunch was served by Oriental Restaurant, Salmiya. The picnic also witnessed refreshments and fresh snacks served by White Top Grocery and White House Restaurant. Sound system by Illuminations- Anand D’souza and Photography by Prashanth shetty.

Purander Manchi, Sushma Bangera, Shalini Vijay, Yadunath Alva, Harish Bhandary, Manoj Shetty, Tharendra Shettigar and Suresh Shyam Rao hosted the event. Picnic was well organized and coordinated by the Sports Secretary Mr. Faustine Pinto. The picnic was concluded with vote of thanks by the joint secretary Jayalaxmi Karkal.

Dubai: A blood donation drive was conducted by Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club (KSCC) at in Al Wasl Club Stadium here on Friday, 26th June 2020.

The drive started around 1:00 pm and continued till 4:00 pm as per schedule provided by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) Blood Donation Centre and 60 people donated blood to support the Blood Bank. The drive was well organised by maintaining social distance in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As blood cannot be produced but only can be donated, this drive will help many patients in need of blood during emergencies. Donors were also feeling proud and happy at this moment thinking of saving someone’s life.

DHA Blood Donation Centre staff carried out the screening and testing done in very well manner keeping social distancing during this pandemic. Volunteers of KSCC were also helping the staff to keep people in safe distance and to make this drive a success.

KSCC Manager Mr. Mohammad Shafi and other office bearers were present at the event venue. KSCC thanked the volunteers, Community Development of Authority (CDA), Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Blood Donation Centre, Government of Dubai and Al Wasl Club Stadium for making the event successful.

On the occasion of 71st Republic Day of India, Qatar Indian Social Forum (QISF), Karnataka State organized a blood donation camp in Doha Qatar, in association with Hamad Medical Corporation on 31st January 2020, Friday.

At first, QISF Karnataka State Vice President, Ziaul Huq welcomed the guests, dignitaries and blood donors.

The Blood Donation Camp was inaugurated by ICC President Mr. Manikantan A P who was the Chief guest. In his inaugural speech, he emphasized that, Service to humanity is service to God. By donating the blood, not only we save the lives, but we get blessings also. He also said that punctuality is the key factor in these type of events and should be incorporated by all of us.

QISF Central Committee President, Sayeed Komachi highlighted the necessity and importance of donating the blood and assured QISF a socio cultural organization will always be ready for this noble cause.

Dr. Vishwantha Kini, a well known Radiologist in HMC motivated the donors.

The camp was started at    7.00 A M and ended at 5.30 PM in which 146 people donated the blood out of 185 people registered.

SKMWA President Abdul Majeed and Dr. Haroon from Asian Medical Centre, who were also the Guests in the programme praised the initiative and efforts of QISF. 

QISF Central Committee Vice President Salam Kunnamal, General Secretary Basheer Ahmed, Northern States President Fasiuddin, QISF State and Branch Committee members Lathif Madikeri, Zakariya Pandeshwar, Saleem Bangadi, Mujeebulla Khan, Nayeem Belapu, Ibrahim UB, Toufeeq, Anwar Angargundy, Rizwan Kalladka, Asif Bannur, Imtiyaz Karnad, Jaleel Kalladka, Haneef Montepadav, Rafiq Uppinangady and other members were present during the programme.

The program was presided and concluded by QISF Karnataka State President Nazeer Pasha.

Dubai: In response to UAE health authorities encourage blood donation campaign Anivasai Kannadigara Okkuta - U.A.E, conducted blood donation camps on April 22 at Abu Dhabi Blood Bank Khaldiya and on 23/04/2020 at Blood Transfusion and Research Centre, Sharjah.

The Abu Dhabi camp was inaugurated by Head of Department of Abu Dhabi Blood Bank, On this occasion she gave brief inputs of the benefits and features of blood donation, urged the participants to spread greater awareness about the importance of blood donation and congratulated the AKO members for their selfless social service and wished all the best for their future endeavours.

Abdul Rasheed, President of AKO presided over the function and Anivasai Kannadigara Okkuta Vice President Mr. Mohammad Nasir appreciated the effort for organizing this camp and gathering youths to be a part of this noble cause as life is precious on this earth. "Each drop of blood counts much, so kindly take it as personal compassion to help unknown who requires blood with no relatives to help him/her.

In Abu Dhabi 41 and in Sharjah 49 donors participated in this event and donated their blood. It was nice to see cheerful smiling donors doing a great community work.
Blood bank staff and AKO Organizing team enthusiastically arranged the campaign which was witnessed by many members and leaders of various community organization of Karnataka.

Anivasai Kannadigara Okkuta President briefed the participates about the ongoing social work of AKO in this current COVID-19 pandemic grim situation AKO is working on following fields: AKO Members have stepped up to support needy community during the Covid-19 pandemic have gone out of their way to comfort those struggling to deal with the challenging situation.

While thousands of people continue to #StayHome, many are in quarantine, there are those on visit visa and stuck here, others have lost jobs or face salary cuts. AKO in coordination with UAE Embassy and other social organization have been able to ensure basic necessities are fulfilled with food provisions and medical assistance to needy.

Providing counselling to bachelors and families those are on quarantine and isolation.

The organizers thanked everybody especially, UAE Health Authority, Abu Dhabi Blood Bank Khaldiya and Blood Transfusion and Research Centre, Sharjah, Management and staff as well as donors for their time and support for the good cause.
