Qatar: ATS celebrates annual day

Doha, April 9: It was yet another evening of fun, entertainment and recognition for the employees of Advanced Technical Services, Doha Qatar who shared the stage with their employer in showcasing their hidden talents on the occasion of their 5th annual day celebration today 6th April 2012 held at Al Gazal Club here, having a total strength of over 450, majority of them hailing from Tulu Nadu, the employees presented various stage shows at the jam packed auditorium.

The event with a difference, rarely seen in Gulf was enthusiastically participated by all the employees who mingled freely with their employer Mr Ravi Shetty, regardless of their status.

Mr. Ravi Shetty fondly known as Ravianna, the Managing Director of Advanced Technical Services hails from Donienjaguthu family in Mangalore. He was born and brought up at Moodambail in Bantwal. He completed his BE in Mechanical Engineering and MBA and chose to work in Gulf. He joined MECON a major EPC contractors in Qatar and later started his own company in Qatar - "Advanced Technical Services" in 2006. He is also the President of Bunts Qatar, past president of Tulu Koota Qatar and an active member of several Indian Organizations in Qatar.

The annual celebration began at 4.45pm with a welcome note by Mr. Preethesh Amin, followed by lighting of lamp by Mrs. Jyothi Ravi Shetty, Mrs. Chandrakala Shetty, Mrs. Nirmala Subramanian, Mrs. Shrinidhi Vijaya Rai, Mrs. Aruna Manoj Shetty, Mrs, Bincy Antony & Mrs. Poojitha S Hegde, followed by Musical Orchestra by Mr. Ravindra Prabhu and Reshma who presented few Golden great hits of Mohd. Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Mukesh, Lata and many more new hits from Hindi, Kannada, Tulu, Telugu, Tamil and Malyalam. Mr. Vismay Vinayak presented Mimicry.

A welcome skit was then staged, highlighting the oneness and ultimate goal of destination and success. A Nepali dance and Hindi Skit, Kaun Banega Roadpathi also entertained the crowd.

The Managing Director of ATS Mr. Ravi Shetty addressed the gathering and gave a key note on the success of his company and appreciated his staff members for their dedication and support.

The entertainment continued with Mad Ads –Umba Lollypop, tulu skit Mangalore central and fusion dance.

Felicitations were done for the best employee's award and to the visiting artists Mr. Preetham, Mrs. Reshma, Mr. Ravindra Prabhu, Mr. Vinayak, Mr. Pramod , Mr. Mahesh Gowda and Mrs. Padmashree Shetty.

The full entertainment gala concluded with vote of thanks by Mr. Subramaniam followed by delicious lunch to all the guests.

The entire programme was compered by Mr. Preetham who had come all the way from India.

Riyadh: On the occasion of 71st Republic Day of India, Karavali Welfare Association Riyadh (KWAR) conducted BLOOD DONATION CAMPAIGN on the 17th Jan 2020 at KING SAUD Universities King Khalid University Hospital, Riyadh. 

This is one of KWARs Prestigious Humanitarian EVENT every year, as we are indebted to serve the society for a Great Cause.

The campaign began at 08:30 am with a theme of Republic Day Celebrations and went on till 3:30 pm. Irrespective of Friday being a weekend and holiday people came in good numbers to donate Blood. The Hospital Staff, The Doctors and the Blood Bank Technicians and others at King Khalid University Hospital were more than happy to serve all those who have participated in this campaign.

KWAR Thanks all the Hospital Staff especially Mr. Salman Baqsh for his introduction of KWAR to Blood Bank and all the arrangements for this campaign, without his support this could not been done. Dr. Zafar Mahmoud for his wonderful support during the campaign and Mr. Abdullah Al Saman for his outstanding Hospitality throughout the campaign. KWAR also thanks all the donors who came all the way voluntarily for this Great Humanitarian Cause. As a token of gesture KWAR awarded Certificate of Appreciation to all the participants.

And KWAR would like to thank specially Mr. Nasir, Representative of Blood Helpline Karnataka, who encouraged many donors and made them to actively participate and donate blood for this noble cause.

KWAR’s core activities was on display on the screen, with most of the Committee members were present at the venue to serve the donors. KWAR thanks all the members, the Executive committee and all those who took their valuable time to organize this event successfully and thank all our well-wishers who supported us for the BLOOD DONATION CAMPAIGN. We in KWAR wish every Donor and the participants a healthy life ahead, and we need everyone's active participation in all our Future events.

Kuwait: Friday Forum Kuwait conducted its 12th inter-school Islamic Elocution Competition at Hotel Rajadhani Palace, Khaitan on 1st January 2020. 

The competition, which was held in the senior and junior categories had participation from 15 Indian Schools across Kuwait comprising of 43 students. In the senior category, Ayisha Wafiya of Indian Community School, Khaitan bagged the first prize and Efrem Joseph of Indian Community School, Amman won the second prize. 

In the junior category, Hima Jameela of Indian Community School, Khaitan bagged the first prize and Fadhel Kandapath of Fahaheel Al Wataniya Indian School won the second prize. Nawaal Yaseen Ebrahim of Indian Community School (SR), Salmiya and Rhruthunanda of Indian Learners Own Academy, Abbasiya won the consolation prizes in senior and junior categories respectively.

This year, the event was fully conducted by the ladies wing of Friday Forum. Dr. Thasneem Amir, Ibtisam Basheer, Toast Masters Ola Rasheed, Fatma Abduhedeid, Shazia Thabassum and Marium Rangat were the judges for the competition in senior and junior categories. The event started with the Qira’at by Saneera Riyas, followed by welcome speech by Dr. Sajna Mohammed. 

The prizes were distributed to winners by Shahina Mansoor, Femitha Faseeh, Dr.Thasneem Amir, Dr. Sajna Mohammed, Zeenath Yacoub, Safna Sayam and Saneera Riyas. The Souvenir for the program - “INSPERIA 2020”- was released during the event by the chief editor Farha Abdul Rahman. The program was compered by Thanveera Noushad and the program convenor Subeana Shabeer conveyed the vote of thanks.

Kuwait: State of Karnataka is enriched with Daasa culture, which had contributed immensely to its literature, culture, art & philosophy. Daasa tradition in Karnataka was part of the Bhakti movement which flourished from around 15th century and it extended considerable spiritual influence over the masses. Kuwait Kannada Koota, a socio-cultural association for the people of Karnataka in Kuwait, organized its annual Daasotsava on 14th February 2020 in remembrance of these saints, thereby displaying the rich cultural heritage of the state. 

The program started with a warm welcome address by Mrs. Spoorthy Kamath, convener of cultural committee. Divine invocation prayer by Mrs. Vasantha Ashok and Mrs. Sandhya Arun set the trend for the event. This was followed by lighting of the traditional lamp by the 2020 executive committee, comprising of President Mr. Rajesh Vittal, Vice President Mr. Sandeep Chabba, General Secretary Mr. Praveen Kumar Shetty and Treasurer Mr. Pradeep Rao. President, while welcoming the gathering, spoke about the importance of Daasas in Kannada literature & history and briefed about the series of upcoming programs. Cultural programs started with fancy dress competition by Koota children comprising of all age group starting from infants to elder kids. This program stole the show as the efforts & time invested by children and their parents were clearly visible. 

2019 executive committee was felicitated by the current committee for wonderfully managing Koota affairs & programs. This was followed by the release of Koota magazine “Marala Mallige", comprising of informative articles, drawings, poems etc., entirely contributed by the association members. Event’s main attraction “Vrindavana Leelavarana", a colorful dance drama spectacularly portrayed by 54 Koota children, was very well appreciated & received by the attendees. Association children who successfully completed 10th and 12th were felicitated as a token of encouragement. Executive committee gave away prizes to Kids who excelled in the stage competitions held earlier. Audience was treated to a divine and melodious Bhajan program conducted astutely by the ladies & men. Koota women performed Bhajan Kolata, along with ladies bhajan, in a well-coordinated manner. Vote of thanks was proposed by the secretary of Koota, thanking those who contributed for the success of the event. Another attraction was a quiz competition “Rasa Prashne", conducted efficiently between the programs, by Mr. Mahesh Shiramgond. 

The whole event was planned and executed astutely by the cultural committee under the leadership of Convener, Mrs. Spoorthy Kamath. Public Relations Committee, led by Mrs. Suparna Dambal, welcomed the members in a vibrant & colorful way, showcasing a beautifully erected divine mantap. The event was sponsored by Unimoni, LIC HFL, VSPL, Geetherb, Kotak Life Insurance, Joy Alukkas, Lulu Hypermarket & Total Environment. The program ended with a sumptuous satvik lunch, sponsored by the senior Koota member, Mr. Ramachandran Seetharaman.
