Al Anwaar Dammam - Amaco Jubail enter finals of DCA League Tournament

Dammam, May 1: Al Anwaar Cricketers Dammam and Amaco Jubail have entered finals of DCA 15 over League Cricket Tournament organized by Dammam Cricket Association (DCA) under the sponsorship of Saleh Ayed Balharith (SAB) Est. Al Khobar.

The final match will be played on Friday, May 4, at 2 pm at DCA grounds in Rakaa Dammam.

DCA annual prize distribution ceremony is scheduled to be held on Thursday May 24, at Lailathi Hall Dammam.

AL Anwar Vs CFC

The first Semi Finals was played between Al Anwaar and CFC. Fayaz, CFC captain won the toss and elected bat first. Opener Ilyas and Ashfaq played responsible and put on 32 runs for the 1st wicket in 4th over. After the fall of Ashfaq, leading the batsman of the tournament- shameer joined Ilyas and fails to score runs against fine bowling from Al Anwaar. Shameer out of 14. CFC were 49 /2 in 6th over. Also, CFC lost two more vital wicket of their captain Fayaz and good striker of the ball Shakeer. After the fall of these two batsman’s Ilyas and Jaffer took the responsible CFC put on valuable partnership for 30 runs for the 5th wicket. After the fall of opener Ilyas – middle order batsman fail to consolidate partnership against fine bowling and fielding performance from Al Anwaar. Jaffer played remarkable innings for 33. At the end they were 109/7 in allotted 15 over’s.

Jaffer 33, Ilyas 21, Shameer – 14.

For Al Anwaar Sajid took 3/20, Imran took 2/14.

In reply Al Anwaar opens the innings with Imran and Iqbal. Both opener played sensible and put on a valuable partnership of 44 runs in 6th over. After the fall of Iqbal – good stricker of the ball Thahir joined imran. Imran played magnetically and smashed CFC bowlers all over the ground. He played 17 balls and scored 55 runs with 8 huge sixes. CFC bowler fails to perform against fine batting performance by Al Anwar Batsman. At the end Al Anwaar were 110/3 in the 11th over. Al Anwaar defeated CFC by 7 wickets to enter the finals.

Thahir – 55 in 17 balls (8 huge sixes), Imran not out 31

Iaqbal – 19.

For CFC all-rounder Jaffer took 2/26.

Al Anwaar is entering the finals for the second time as they were the runners up in the year 2011.

Amaco Vs Expertise Jubail

2nd Semi Finals was played between AMACO JUBAIL VS Expertise Jubail.

Won the toss and put on bat by EXPERTISE lost their opener Shoiab for duck. This is the important wicket for Amaco, after the fall of 1st wicket Aman joined Rajeev and tried to build up a good start for Expertise, but fail as they lost their 2nd wicket in the form of Rajeev when the score is 12 on the board. At this crucial stage good all-rounder of the tournament – Zubair joined Aman. and looks to score the runs, also failed as they lost Zubairs wicket when the score is 21. Amaco get upper hand at this stage as they send back all three good batsmen back to the pavilion.

Then Captain Asif joined Aman and built up partnership for 50 runs. In the middle Nuwan played magnificently and moved the score sheet. After the fall of Amman’s wicket all other batsman find difficult to score runs against fine bowling and fielding performance by Amaco Jubail. At the end they are 109/10.

Amaco 40, Nuwan 21, Asif 13

For Amaco Zaheer took 4/22, Rameez took 2/22.

Chasing a target Amaco open the innings with Imran and Nazeer. When the score is 13 Amaco lost their opener Imran for 11. Then good stricker of the ball Niyaz joined to Nazeer and put on valuable score of 20 runs for the 2nd wicket. After the fall of nazeer Amaco also lost the vital wicket of Niyaz 16. At one stage they were 63/4 in 9th over. At this crucial stage Afwan and Thanzeel took the responsible of Amaco and played sensible and put on 30 runs for the 6th wicket. After the fall of the Afwan, all-rounder Thanzeel took his team for memorable victory against Expertise.

Dubai: Karnataka Sports & Cultural Club (KSCC) distributed Eid Kit across the UAE (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Al Ain, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah to the ) needy people on Eid al Fitr.

KSCC President Mr. Mohammed Ismail Said: “Eid is a Symbol of Gratitude and Unity. As the last few weeks have been hard for each one of us, we wanted to stand in solidarity to celebrate Eid, by helping labours and needy people. He also said that “We are together to be part of UAE. Serving these meals is our core social responsibility."

KSCC recently conducted humanitarian services during COVID-19 pandemic in 2 phases and conducted Blood Donation Drive. They have also planned to conduct next Blood Donation Drive on 25th May, 2020.

The KSCC main objective is to develop the expatriate community into a well-nourished section of society in the areas of social, sports and cultural activities.

Dubai: In response to UAE health authorities encourage blood donation campaign Anivasai Kannadigara Okkuta - U.A.E, conducted blood donation camps on April 22 at Abu Dhabi Blood Bank Khaldiya and on 23/04/2020 at Blood Transfusion and Research Centre, Sharjah.

The Abu Dhabi camp was inaugurated by Head of Department of Abu Dhabi Blood Bank, On this occasion she gave brief inputs of the benefits and features of blood donation, urged the participants to spread greater awareness about the importance of blood donation and congratulated the AKO members for their selfless social service and wished all the best for their future endeavours.

Abdul Rasheed, President of AKO presided over the function and Anivasai Kannadigara Okkuta Vice President Mr. Mohammad Nasir appreciated the effort for organizing this camp and gathering youths to be a part of this noble cause as life is precious on this earth. "Each drop of blood counts much, so kindly take it as personal compassion to help unknown who requires blood with no relatives to help him/her.

In Abu Dhabi 41 and in Sharjah 49 donors participated in this event and donated their blood. It was nice to see cheerful smiling donors doing a great community work.
Blood bank staff and AKO Organizing team enthusiastically arranged the campaign which was witnessed by many members and leaders of various community organization of Karnataka.

Anivasai Kannadigara Okkuta President briefed the participates about the ongoing social work of AKO in this current COVID-19 pandemic grim situation AKO is working on following fields: AKO Members have stepped up to support needy community during the Covid-19 pandemic have gone out of their way to comfort those struggling to deal with the challenging situation.

While thousands of people continue to #StayHome, many are in quarantine, there are those on visit visa and stuck here, others have lost jobs or face salary cuts. AKO in coordination with UAE Embassy and other social organization have been able to ensure basic necessities are fulfilled with food provisions and medical assistance to needy.

Providing counselling to bachelors and families those are on quarantine and isolation.

The organizers thanked everybody especially, UAE Health Authority, Abu Dhabi Blood Bank Khaldiya and Blood Transfusion and Research Centre, Sharjah, Management and staff as well as donors for their time and support for the good cause.

Doha: Selvam aged 46 son of Subramanian hailing from Panakulam Village, Alangudi, Pudukkottai District in Tamilnadu province who worked as a technician, died in Qatar on April 24.

Due to challenging situation prevailing in both India & Qatar for body repatriation services, especially in Covid-19 atmosphere, Family is unable to progress further for past 2 months. At his stage Family of the deceased met Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), Pudukkottai office bearers and requested to intervene and help out, and also agreed to bury the body in Qatar itself.

Hence, SDPI delegates communicated with well-known Indian Expatriate welfare Organization - Qatar Indian Social Forum (QISF). QISF General Secretary Basheer Ahamed, Secretary Abdullatheef Madikeri and team collected the required documents from the family of the deceased and managed to clear all the necessary formalities from the police department, Health Department, Embassy of India and Hamad Medical Corporation within a short period of time and arranged for a peaceful burial of Mr. Selvam in Dukhan cemetery.
