'Healthy Life Happy Life' health campaign launched in Dammam

Dammam, June 4: "Expatriates in Gulf countries are like candles, who actually pine their life for their family and others. In this regard IFF is really trying to create health awareness among the expatriates”, said Mr. Faisal, inaugurating the two week long health campaign 'Healthy Life Happy Life' organised by India fraternity Forum at Safa Auditorium, Dammam.

Dr. G. Shivarudrappa focused on different aspects like hypertension, diabetics, cholesterol and heart attack. On seminar he emphasised on the need to keep the health free from deceases. There was a question and answer session after the seminar.

On this occasion Muhammed Ashraf, President, India Fraternity Forum, Karnataka Chapter, released Handbill "Healthy Life Happy Life".

The main purpose of the campaign is to bring health awareness among Indian expatriates especially low earning employees who are in lack of knowledge of cause root of the deceases like hypertension, diabetics, cholesterol and heart attack.

Muhammed Ashraf provided the information about the upcoming programmes of health campaign which includes;

- Health Awareness program for women in jubail on 8th June and in dammam on 15th June

- Health Awareness program for men in jubail on 8th June & in Khobar on 8th June.

- Distribution of Hand Bill " Healthy Life Happy Life " across eastern province.

The programme began with the recitation of the Qur'an by Abdussubhan. A memento was presented by Muhammed Iqbal, Secretary, India Fraternity Forum, Karnataka Chapter to Dr. G. Shivarudrappa. The program was witnessed by a large number of people. Earlier, Muhammed Haneef welcomed the gathering & Vote of thanks by Asif.

ISF, Humanity Forum help cardiac patient from DK to fly back from Saudi Arabia amid lockdown

Mangaluru, May 22: An elderly cardiac patient from Dakshina Kannada, who was stranded in Saudi Arabia due to covid-19 lock-down, has finally reached his homeland thanks to the timely intervention by Humanity Forum Jubail and Indian Social Forum.

The elderly man hailing from Kadaba area of Dakshina Kannada was admitted to a hospital in Madinah. However, his condition continued to worsen due to lack of proper treatment. The efforts by his family members to bring him back home had not yielded results.

Meanwhile, one of the relatives of the patient, Ansari Suratkal, who happens to be a DKSC activist, brought the issue to the notice of the Karnataka unit of the Indian Social Forum in Dammam. ISF contacted Humanity Forum president Zakariya Jokatte, who helped the patient to speak directly union minister D V Sadananda Gowda in a video conference organised by coastaldigest.com.

Humanity Forum also persuaded the Indian Embassy to allow the stranded cardiac patient to fly back to India through Dammam-Bengaluru repatriation flight on May 20.

However, it was not easy for the patient to travel from Madinah to Dammam International Airport due to lock-down and curfew. ISF not only obtained travel permission for him but also arranged vehicle. Jeddah and Riyadh units of ISF helped in obtaining permission letter in their respective places in spite of travel ban imposed by the police. Madinah unit of ISF arranged vehicle for transportation. Zakariya Jokatte bore the air ticket and other expenses of the patient.
