EIFF family get-together creates awareness about education

Dubai, June 5: Emirates India Fraternity Forum conducted a family get-together under the themes ‘Importance of Education to Empower the Community’ and ‘Evils of Dowry’ recently at Aneesa Al Ansari Girls School, Al Quoz in Dubai.

The chief guests for the evening were Dr. Kaup Mohammad, General Secretary, Beary’s Cultural Forum and Professor at London American College, Abdul Razak, President of KIC, UAE, and O M Abdul Salam, General Secretary, Rehab India Foundation.

Dr. Kaup Mohammad said that as a human being one must aim to serve the humanity. He urged the young generation to pursue their goals with dedication and said that they must plan their future and achieve excellence in their chosen field.

He also stressed on getting higher education to compete in modern challenges.

Pointing to the issue of difficulty faced by poor and backward community in the field of education, O M Abdul Salam appealed to the public to take care of the educational needs of poor children.

He said it is the collective responsibility of every individual to make necessary arrangement for the deprived students to complete their basic education.

He also presented a slide show which exhibited the social activities done by Rehab India Foundation in different states of India for the empowerment of the community.

Abdul Razak, Executive committee member of EIFF, spoke about the evils of dowry and said that giving and accepting of dowry are both considered as an anti-Islamic act.

He pointed out that because of dowry system many poor girls are still not married and there is lot of harassment done in the name of dowry in our society. He stressed on the importance of creating awareness about the evils of dowry among our community.

Nasir Hussain, President of EIFF, speaking on the occasion, emphasised on the importance of education to uplift the community and eradication of dowry system from the society.

The members of EIFF displayed skits on the Importance of education and also eradication of dowry from the society which was well appreciated by the crowd.

The President of KIC, Abdul Razak thanked EIFF for conducting such a grand event and also for educating the crowd on these two burning topics in today’s society.

The event was concluded with a ‘signature campaign’ by all the participants. The unmarried bachelors also took an oath they would never accept dowry in their marriage.

The half day program started with the recitation of Quranic verses by Mohammad Ashir. Javed Ahmed welcomed the gathering. Shameem Ismail proposed vote of thanks.

Kuwait: Friday Forum Kuwait conducted its 12th inter-school Islamic Elocution Competition at Hotel Rajadhani Palace, Khaitan on 1st January 2020. 

The competition, which was held in the senior and junior categories had participation from 15 Indian Schools across Kuwait comprising of 43 students. In the senior category, Ayisha Wafiya of Indian Community School, Khaitan bagged the first prize and Efrem Joseph of Indian Community School, Amman won the second prize. 

In the junior category, Hima Jameela of Indian Community School, Khaitan bagged the first prize and Fadhel Kandapath of Fahaheel Al Wataniya Indian School won the second prize. Nawaal Yaseen Ebrahim of Indian Community School (SR), Salmiya and Rhruthunanda of Indian Learners Own Academy, Abbasiya won the consolation prizes in senior and junior categories respectively.

This year, the event was fully conducted by the ladies wing of Friday Forum. Dr. Thasneem Amir, Ibtisam Basheer, Toast Masters Ola Rasheed, Fatma Abduhedeid, Shazia Thabassum and Marium Rangat were the judges for the competition in senior and junior categories. The event started with the Qira’at by Saneera Riyas, followed by welcome speech by Dr. Sajna Mohammed. 

The prizes were distributed to winners by Shahina Mansoor, Femitha Faseeh, Dr.Thasneem Amir, Dr. Sajna Mohammed, Zeenath Yacoub, Safna Sayam and Saneera Riyas. The Souvenir for the program - “INSPERIA 2020”- was released during the event by the chief editor Farha Abdul Rahman. The program was compered by Thanveera Noushad and the program convenor Subeana Shabeer conveyed the vote of thanks.

Kuwait City, Aug 9: Indian social forum organised Blood Donation Camp in association with central blood bank kuwait on Friday, 7th August 2020.

The forum organised camp to support the high demand of blood in the context of COVID-19.

All arrangements to maintain COVID-19 protocol were made in the camp including segregation of donors as branch wise batches along with strict safety measures of participants.

Forum also had donated blood to many patients during the lockdown period. 

Hundreds of people donated blood in the camp. The camp organised in Blood Bank, Jabriya was successfully managed by Dr. Asma Rafat and leaders of Indian social forum Vice President Aslam, Secretory Sayyid Bukhari Thangal, Moideen Koya, Khaleel, Aseem, Mohammed Sha, Shihab, Naushad,
Indian Social Forum expressed their deep appreciation and gratitude to the doctors, staff and management of blood bank, forum’s members and donors.

Dubai: A blood donation drive was conducted by Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club (KSCC) at in Al Wasl Club Stadium here on Friday, 26th June 2020.

The drive started around 1:00 pm and continued till 4:00 pm as per schedule provided by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) Blood Donation Centre and 60 people donated blood to support the Blood Bank. The drive was well organised by maintaining social distance in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As blood cannot be produced but only can be donated, this drive will help many patients in need of blood during emergencies. Donors were also feeling proud and happy at this moment thinking of saving someone’s life.

DHA Blood Donation Centre staff carried out the screening and testing done in very well manner keeping social distancing during this pandemic. Volunteers of KSCC were also helping the staff to keep people in safe distance and to make this drive a success.

KSCC Manager Mr. Mohammad Shafi and other office bearers were present at the event venue. KSCC thanked the volunteers, Community Development of Authority (CDA), Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Blood Donation Centre, Government of Dubai and Al Wasl Club Stadium for making the event successful.
