Jeddah, July 16: The 24th Annual General Body Meeting of Jam’iyyatul Falah Jeddah Unit, a front line NGO awarded by Karnataka State Government, was recently held at Star Restaurant, Azizia Jeddah and new Executive Committee has elected B.P. Abid Bajpe as the new President of JF Jeddah for the period of 2012 – 2013.

Jam’iyyatul Falah founder member Mohammed Iqbal Yusuf has expressed in his message, gratitude to all members and appealed young generation to come forward to support Jam’iyyatul Falah in various fields of services towards the betterment of the community in his message which was presented by Ex- NRCC Ameer S. M. Jafer.

Guest Speaker Mohammed Mukhtar from Shimoga District has emphasized the importance of Charity and Islamic Brotherhood with the responsibility on each ‘Ummatte Muslimeen’ for the welfare of poor community. He also expressed that Jam’iyyatul Falah since its inception has anticipated the requirements of the poor community and helped the needy people by education, providing shelters, food, health care system etc.

Chief Guest Ayub Zanjani from BBC Urdu services said that “JF members are striving to get Allah’s grace ultimately by dedicating their time, efforts and financial help for the poor needy people. The reward for the hard efforts will be certain and the cheque from Allah will be on unlimited funds and will never bounce or return”.

Ex-NRCC Ameer S. M. Jafer thanked all members and well wishers of JF and briefed about LSOP regularities implemented in all NRCC units. He also informed the members that Insha Allah in the year 2013, JF will reach a mile stone of 25 years and appealed to all members to Join JF on celebrating of silver jubilee.

General Secretary Mohammed Saheb has presented the Annual report of JF Jeddah including all activities of JF Jeddah in particular and back home activities of Jam’iyyatul Falah Head Quarters in general. He also thanked Mohammed Aslam Kazi from Basem International Shipping & Logistic Co, Jeddah for sponsoring the AGBM Event and all other members, well wishers for their extended support since inception of Jam’iyyatul Falah.

Treasurer Mohammed Iqbal has presented the financial report of JF Jeddah for the period of 2011 -2012 in which Opening balance, collections through different means and disbursements were clearly addressed. Final closing balance amount was revealed with an audited accounts statement. General Members were allowed to ask questions related to finance report and after endorsement of Financial Report and general members, the election process New Executive Committee has been started which was conducted by EX- NRCC Ameer S. M. Jafer and coordinated by Moderator Mohammed Mansoor.

In the new Executive Committee Members Election Process 35 members have been enrolled for 2012 – 2013. Later in the office bearer’s election meeting, Br. Shaikh Saoud Yakoob has been appointed as General Secretary, Mohammed Iqbal has been endorsed as Treasurer for second term.

Prior to this, Joint Secretary Shaikh Saoud Yakoob had recited the Holy verses of Quran to start the AGBM and Outgoing President Habeeb Rahaman has welcomed all members, guests to the meeting. Habeeb has highlighted that JF is on its way to celebrate its Silver Jubilee Insha Allah by 2013 and appealed all to support JF with Tann, Mann and Dhan. Meeting coordinator Nazir Ahmed has delivered the vote of thanks and the program was compared by Mohammed Mansoor.

Kuwait City, Aug 9: Indian social forum organised Blood Donation Camp in association with central blood bank kuwait on Friday, 7th August 2020.

The forum organised camp to support the high demand of blood in the context of COVID-19.

All arrangements to maintain COVID-19 protocol were made in the camp including segregation of donors as branch wise batches along with strict safety measures of participants.

Forum also had donated blood to many patients during the lockdown period. 

Hundreds of people donated blood in the camp. The camp organised in Blood Bank, Jabriya was successfully managed by Dr. Asma Rafat and leaders of Indian social forum Vice President Aslam, Secretory Sayyid Bukhari Thangal, Moideen Koya, Khaleel, Aseem, Mohammed Sha, Shihab, Naushad,
Indian Social Forum expressed their deep appreciation and gratitude to the doctors, staff and management of blood bank, forum’s members and donors.

Dubai, Aug 7: One may call it good luck, but for two Indian expats it was God who prevented them at the last minute from boarding the Air India Express plane that crashed in Kerala, killing at least 18 people on board.

According to India's Civil Aviation Ministry, the Boeing 737 aircraft on a flight from Dubai to Kozhikode overshot the runway at Kozhikode airport on Friday evening. There were 184 passengers including 10 infants, 2 pilots and four cabin crew onboard the aircraft.

Noufal Moin Vetten, an Ajman resident working as an office boy in a Sharjah school, was booked to travel on the flight and had checked in as per schedule.

Recounting his miraculous escape, Vetten, a resident of Malappuram, Thirunavaya, whose visa was cancelled a week ago, told Gulf News: “I was handed my boarding pass, but when I reached immigration, they told me I had to pay a fine of Dh 1,000 (Rs 20,430) for overstay. I had only Dh 500 (Rs10,215) with me.

"I called my school PRO and he told me to come back. He said they would follow protocols and pay the fines before sending me,“ he said.

Vetten was disappointed and called his family to let them know.

“When I heard about the crash, I was saddened for all the passengers. But I'm so relieved I missed it. God has been really merciful,” said Vetten.

Afsal Parrakodan, a resident of Abu Dhabi, had a similar stroke of luck.

“My work visa was cancelled about a week ago. After getting my boarding pass, I was told I had to pay a fine of Dh1,000 at the immigration counter, but I had only Dh500 on me.”

“I was very keen to board the flight and be with my family. So I called a friend who brought me the additional Dh500, but by then, my baggage had been offloaded and the flight's doors were closed,” said Parrakodan.

“I was feeling very sad and called my mother to tell her I had missed the flight. But a few hours later, when I learnt of the crash, I couldn’t help but feel relieved and thankful to God for saving my life,“ said an overwhelmed Parrakodan who plans to fly back next week.

Dubai, May 20: Dubai-based Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club’s humanitarian services in charge Naseer Karaje team have appreciated the efforts of Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner, Mangaluru Airport director, NGOs of Mangaluru, and MLA for extending a royal welcome to second batch of repatriates from Dubai that landed at Mangaluru Airport on May 18.

There was so much of confusions when 1st batch of repatriation flight landed in Mangaluru airport on 12th May due to lack of proper arrangements and co ordination.

This time due to proper arrangements and special supervision by the DC everything was driven smoothly. It has given a confidence to all the Manglurean expats of Dubai in returning to their native places, the KSCC said.
