Kuwait: KMWA organises ifthar get-together

Kuwait City, August 13: Karnataka Muslim Welfare Association (KMWA), an affiliate of IMA-Kuwait hosted an 'Iftar ' party for Indian expatriates hailing from Karnataka State in Kuwait on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Rajadhani Palace Banquet hall in Khaitan.

The Programme began with the recitation of the Holy Qura’n by Qazi Mohammed Owais. Guest visitor of Kuwait Ministry of Awqaf & Islamic Affairs, Mohammad Abdullah Javed, President - JIH Karnataka addressed the gathering followed by a question and answer session. Javed in his keynote address elaborated the social, financial and political challenges of Muslims in Karnataka State and enthused the audience to remain concerned and respond to their needs.

KMWA President Hasan Yusuf in his opening address welcomed the gathering and briefed about KMWA activities. He said that KMWA arranges this kind of "Get-Togethers" from time to time to maintain the gesture of our goodwill and unity among NRI's of Karnataka in Kuwait.

B.S. Sharafuddin convened the programme and introduced the Chief Guest to the audience. Jameel Ahmed, General Secretary of KMWA proposed the vote of thanks.

This get-together provided a friendly atmosphere for expatriates and community members from various parts of Karnataka.

Dammam: Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka chapter distributed Food Kits for Indian expatriates labors who were in trouble due to Corona lockdown on April 6, 2020 at a labor camp here in Al Khobar.

The labors, most of them are from the staes of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh And Uttar Pradesh, were in trouble without food.

 Recieving the information leaders of Indian Social Forum immediately visited the camp to take survey.

Indian Social Forum with the help of donors distributed food kits. Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka Chapter president Mr.Mohammed Shareef Jokatte expressed gratitude for donors for their contribution.

Kuwait City, Aug 9: Indian social forum organised Blood Donation Camp in association with central blood bank kuwait on Friday, 7th August 2020.

The forum organised camp to support the high demand of blood in the context of COVID-19.

All arrangements to maintain COVID-19 protocol were made in the camp including segregation of donors as branch wise batches along with strict safety measures of participants.

Forum also had donated blood to many patients during the lockdown period. 

Hundreds of people donated blood in the camp. The camp organised in Blood Bank, Jabriya was successfully managed by Dr. Asma Rafat and leaders of Indian social forum Vice President Aslam, Secretory Sayyid Bukhari Thangal, Moideen Koya, Khaleel, Aseem, Mohammed Sha, Shihab, Naushad,
Indian Social Forum expressed their deep appreciation and gratitude to the doctors, staff and management of blood bank, forum’s members and donors.

Mangaluru, May 22: An elderly cardiac patient from Dakshina Kannada, who was stranded in Saudi Arabia due to covid-19 lock-down, has finally reached his homeland thanks to the timely intervention by Humanity Forum Jubail and Indian Social Forum.

The elderly man hailing from Kadaba area of Dakshina Kannada was admitted to a hospital in Madinah. However, his condition continued to worsen due to lack of proper treatment. The efforts by his family members to bring him back home had not yielded results.

Meanwhile, one of the relatives of the patient, Ansari Suratkal, who happens to be a DKSC activist, brought the issue to the notice of the Karnataka unit of the Indian Social Forum in Dammam. ISF contacted Humanity Forum president Zakariya Jokatte, who helped the patient to speak directly union minister D V Sadananda Gowda in a video conference organised by coastaldigest.com.

Humanity Forum also persuaded the Indian Embassy to allow the stranded cardiac patient to fly back to India through Dammam-Bengaluru repatriation flight on May 20. 

However, it was not easy for the patient to travel from Madinah to Dammam International Airport due to lock-down and curfew. ISF not only obtained travel permission for him but also arranged vehicle. Jeddah and Riyadh units of ISF helped in obtaining permission letter in their respective places in spite of travel ban imposed by the police. Madinah unit of ISF arranged vehicle for transportation. Zakariya Jokatte bore the air ticket and other expenses of the patient.
