Cricket tourney to mark silver jubilee of JF

Dammam, Jan 8: In 2013, Jam’iyyatul Falah will celebrate the completion of 25 years of dedication and commitment to the community. To commemorate the silver jubilee year, JF Dammam Unit has planned to organize ‘JF Silver Jubilee Cup-2013’ cricket tournament for a noble cause on  January 18 and 25  at SAB Cricket Academy Ground in Rakah (Dammam-Al-Khobar Highway).

Top 16 cricket teams from eastern province will participate to extend their support for the cause by giving their best performance to entertain the huge Asian crowd.

All the 16 teams will play their preliminary matches and quarter-final matches on 18th January 2013 from 7:00 am to 5:00pm. On 25th January 2013, the semi-finals and finals will be played from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. Immediately after the finals, the prize distribution and closing ceremony will conclude the popular cricket tournament of Jam’iyyatul Falah.

Jam’iyyatul Falah has been organising the cricket tournaments successfully in Dammam, Jubail, Riyadh and Jeddah since last many years, and this extraordinary tournament for noble cause will facilitate JF to expand various educational programs and give support to the downtrodden families in the community back home.

The Cricket Organizing Committee of ‘JF Silver Jubilee Cup-2013’ has urged the people to come and watch the mega event to support for the cause.

Doha: Selvam aged 46 son of Subramanian hailing from Panakulam Village, Alangudi, Pudukkottai District in Tamilnadu province who worked as a technician, died in Qatar on April 24.

Due to challenging situation prevailing in both India & Qatar for body repatriation services, especially in Covid-19 atmosphere, Family is unable to progress further for past 2 months. At his stage Family of the deceased met Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), Pudukkottai office bearers and requested to intervene and help out, and also agreed to bury the body in Qatar itself.

Hence, SDPI delegates communicated with well-known Indian Expatriate welfare Organization - Qatar Indian Social Forum (QISF). QISF General Secretary Basheer Ahamed, Secretary Abdullatheef Madikeri and team collected the required documents from the family of the deceased and managed to clear all the necessary formalities from the police department, Health Department, Embassy of India and Hamad Medical Corporation within a short period of time and arranged for a peaceful burial of Mr. Selvam in Dukhan cemetery.
