Riyadh: Montepadavu Global Friends celebrate first anniversary

Riyadh, Jan 29: The first anniversary programme of Montepadavu Global Friends Riyadh (MGFR) was held on Friday. Aboobakkar Muhammad Musliyar, President of the organization, presided over the programme.

mgfrSpeaking on the occasion, Aboobakkar Muhammad Musliyar explained the importance of organization in Islam and said that serving the needy is a sign of love one possesses for Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh).

Ismail T, welcomed the gathering and presented a brief introduction of the organisation’s activities. Encouraging religious as well as worldly education, scholarships to poor students in and around Montepadavu, extending support to Masjids and Madrasas in the region, conducting weddings of poor families, providing aid in times of accidents and emergency, helping Montepadavu residents in Riyadh in their times of difficulty are among the activities carried out by the organization, Mr. Ismail said.

The fresh committee of MGFR for the year 2013-14 was formed on the occasion. Aboobakkar Muhammad Musliyar will continue as President. Muhammad Iqbal Thotal has been elected Vice President. Ismail T will be the Chief Secretary and would be assisted by Joint Secretary Aboobakkar S M. Muhammad Ashraf GM has been chosen Treasurer while Abdulla KP has been handed over the responsibility of accounts. Abbas IM has been chosen Convenor and Farooq Hasani M has been chosen for the Advisor’s post.

Ibrahim Nazir Thotaal, Ibrahim Asif, Abdul Hameed M, Thanzeel U T, Yashik M I, Abdul Raheem and Rafeeq G S, were also named as members of the organization.

Aboobakkar SM, the newly elected Joint Secretary, proposed the vote of thanks. The programme concluded with Salaath.

Doha: Selvam aged 46 son of Subramanian hailing from Panakulam Village, Alangudi, Pudukkottai District in Tamilnadu province who worked as a technician, died in Qatar on April 24.

Due to challenging situation prevailing in both India & Qatar for body repatriation services, especially in Covid-19 atmosphere, Family is unable to progress further for past 2 months. At his stage Family of the deceased met Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), Pudukkottai office bearers and requested to intervene and help out, and also agreed to bury the body in Qatar itself.

Hence, SDPI delegates communicated with well-known Indian Expatriate welfare Organization - Qatar Indian Social Forum (QISF). QISF General Secretary Basheer Ahamed, Secretary Abdullatheef Madikeri and team collected the required documents from the family of the deceased and managed to clear all the necessary formalities from the police department, Health Department, Embassy of India and Hamad Medical Corporation within a short period of time and arranged for a peaceful burial of Mr. Selvam in Dukhan cemetery.

Markaz Al Madeena Association, Eastern province, conducted JALS-E-UCHILA get together program at Dammam, Saudi Arabia on March 5,2020 on account of celebrating 28 years of social service dedicated by the organization.

The event chairman Noushad Uchil inaugurated the function. The organization president presided the program and delivered talk about the intention of the organization. Hashim Uchil has intorduced the social and academic contribution of the organization of past 28 years. Jamal Uchil welcomed the gathering and Ismail G.I. host the program.

Games, Quiz and prize distribution to the winners and senior social workers was the special attraction of the event. The planning committee of the event includes Iqbal, Farooq, Shahul Hameed, Ramza, Nabeel, Afthar, Ashraf and Shafi.

The Overseas Indian Cultural Congress (OICC), Bahrain, has charted aircrafts to repatriate stranded expatriates to India. 

Boby Parayil, General Secretary, OICC National Committee, Bahrain has thanked all those who supported in this cause.

“The aircrafts were not licensed and were in crisis until the last minute. Finally, Mohammed Mansoor, president of Bahrain chapter of Indian Overseas Congress approached IOC Middle East in charge Dr Arathi Krishna, who helped get permission to operate flight to Kozhikode,” he said in a release. 

All mandatory approvals from the Foreign Ministry of Affairs and other government officials were accomplished by Dr Arathi Krishna. OICC has expressed gratitude to her for her timely support, he said. 

OICC is also grateful to former Kerala chief minister Oommen Chandy for doing necessary arrangements to get all the approvals for flight landing in Kerala, he added.
