BAMA organises volleyball tourney for a cause

Dammam, Feb 1: Bajpe Area Minority Association (BAMA), a charity organization registered in Karnataka, India, which provides monetary support to economically poor students in Karnataka organized BAMA Cup- Volleyball Tournament 2012 at Tamimi Ground Khobar Camp, under the banner of BAMA Dammam for a noble cause.

It was an exclusively invited eight team knock out match where the initial rounds were held on December 6 and 7, 2012 and the the semi-finals and finals were held on December 13 and 14 respectively.

Final match was played between ARABCO - Riyadh and Bankal Sports Club - Riyadh. Bankal Sports Club - Riyadh won by defeating ARABCO - Riyadh by 3 - 2 sets. Mr Ahad was declared as Man of the match of the BAMA Cup Volleyball Tournament 2012. Dr. Varghees Anthony and Saji John were the umpires of the matches.

The inaugural even began on Dec 6, with a ‘Qirath’ and the valedictory programme was held on December 14, which was presided over by BAMA-DMM President Ahmed Shakeer Mohommed.

The valedictory event was inaugurated by Chief Guest Nasser and Shabuddin Siraj, the Finance Manager and Marketing Manager of Dar As Sihha Medical Center. Salauddin, Proprietor of Saleh Ayed Balharith Est. (Co-Sponsor), Sohel Qassim Bhutt- Director of Operations: Tamimi Global Co. Ltd, Zahoor Ahmed Kiyani - Director  of Administrations: Tamimi Global Co. Ltd, and  Aslam Mulla Chief Accountant were the guests of honour.

Event was concluded with prize distribution.

Dammam: Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka chapter organized a "Live along with COVID-19" webinar on 29 May 2020 in association with HealthCare Polyclinic, Dammam.

The webinar at Zoom App. featured over 150+ resident Kannadigas from Saudi Arabia's eastern and neighboring provinces.

Dr. Shailendranath made a presentation on the program and gave useful information. Indian Social Forum Dammam, Karnataka Chapter President Sharif Joktake delivered the keynote address. General Secretary Irshad Jokatte stalled the program.

Kuwait: Friday Forum Kuwait conducted its 12th inter-school Islamic Elocution Competition at Hotel Rajadhani Palace, Khaitan on 1st January 2020. 

The competition, which was held in the senior and junior categories had participation from 15 Indian Schools across Kuwait comprising of 43 students. In the senior category, Ayisha Wafiya of Indian Community School, Khaitan bagged the first prize and Efrem Joseph of Indian Community School, Amman won the second prize. 

In the junior category, Hima Jameela of Indian Community School, Khaitan bagged the first prize and Fadhel Kandapath of Fahaheel Al Wataniya Indian School won the second prize. Nawaal Yaseen Ebrahim of Indian Community School (SR), Salmiya and Rhruthunanda of Indian Learners Own Academy, Abbasiya won the consolation prizes in senior and junior categories respectively.

This year, the event was fully conducted by the ladies wing of Friday Forum. Dr. Thasneem Amir, Ibtisam Basheer, Toast Masters Ola Rasheed, Fatma Abduhedeid, Shazia Thabassum and Marium Rangat were the judges for the competition in senior and junior categories. The event started with the Qira’at by Saneera Riyas, followed by welcome speech by Dr. Sajna Mohammed. 

The prizes were distributed to winners by Shahina Mansoor, Femitha Faseeh, Dr.Thasneem Amir, Dr. Sajna Mohammed, Zeenath Yacoub, Safna Sayam and Saneera Riyas. The Souvenir for the program - “INSPERIA 2020”- was released during the event by the chief editor Farha Abdul Rahman. The program was compered by Thanveera Noushad and the program convenor Subeana Shabeer conveyed the vote of thanks.

Manama: Kannada Sangha Bahrain President Mr. Pradeep Shetty and Vice President of Bahrain's prestigious KHK HEROES Foundation Mohammed Mansoor on Monday, May 11, met The Second Secretary (Consular & CW) of the Embassy of India, Bahrain Mr. P. K. Chowdhury in the Indian Embassy. 

The situation, problems and relief of Indians and Kannadigas residing in Bahrain during the COVID 19 Pandemic was discussed in detail. The distribution of food (dry ration) kits, as well as those seeking repatriation, was also discussed in the meeting.

When asked about the repatriation of distressed Kannadigas, the Second Secretary said that though the number of Kannadigas who wish to return home is not much compared to the rest of the states, still Embassy is compiling all the information and will do the needful soon. 

Mr. Shetty and Mr. Mansoor told the Second Secretary that those who are in problem can contact them and they are ready to do their best.
