Bahrain: 'Beary’s Mangalore Boyz’ organizes blood donation camp

Manama, Mar 13: 'Beary’s Mangalore Boyz’ of Bahrain organized blood donation camp recently at the Salmaniya Medical Centre in Bahrain. Over 45 donors participated in the camp.

The Camp was organized by Abdul Aziz Ahmed, member of Beary’s Mangalore Boyz and Ashraf,  Head of Beary’s Mangalore Boyz cricket team along with Nihal Murfankan, who steered and motivated the Beary’s Mangalore Boyz. The camp bagged huge appreciation from doctors and medical staff.

The camp was sponsored by Mohamed Mansoor (VP of Al Namal Group),  Abdul Naser (Manager of UCO), Mohamed Salam (Area Manager Damas) Abu Backer (Manager Al Kunniaz) and Mohammed Shams (Manager India Insurance).

Dubai, May 20: Dubai-based Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club’s humanitarian services in charge Naseer Karaje team have appreciated the efforts of Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner, Mangaluru Airport director, NGOs of Mangaluru, and MLA for extending a royal welcome to second batch of repatriates from Dubai that landed at Mangaluru Airport on May 18.

There was so much of confusions when 1st batch of repatriation flight landed in Mangaluru airport on 12th May due to lack of proper arrangements and co ordination.

This time due to proper arrangements and special supervision by the DC everything was driven smoothly. It has given a confidence to all the Manglurean expats of Dubai in returning to their native places, the KSCC said.

Dubai, Aug 6: Non-resident Indian entrepreneur and philanthropist Dewakara Alva passed away on Thursday August 6. He was 63.

Alva, who hailed from Mangaluru, was the director of Federal Insurance Brokers LLC, Dubai and was residing in Dubai for around four decades. He was reportedly suffering from health problems for last few months. 

He was a patron of Tulu and Kannada language and culture in United Arab Emirates. He was a member of various NRI organizations including UAE Tulu Koota and UAE Bunts

Alva is survived by wife Saritha, daughter Powshali, and son Manal.
