KSS to celebrate 11th annual day in May

Sharjah, Mar 21: Karnataka Sangha Sharjah (KSS) is all set to celebrate its 11th annual day.

Addressing a news conference, President of the Sangha Satish Poojary said that the annual day celebration will be held on May 31 at Ewan Hotel, near Lulua Beach, Sharjah.

The event will be graced by guests from both India as well as UAE.

He said that on this day KSS will confer the prestigious Mayura Award. ‘Mayura’, a souvenir of KSS will also be released on the occasion.

The souvenir will document the various works of the Sangha over the last ten years.

Dubai: Karnataka Sports & Cultural Club (KSCC) distributed Eid Kit across the UAE (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Al Ain, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah to the ) needy people on Eid al Fitr.

KSCC President Mr. Mohammed Ismail Said: “Eid is a Symbol of Gratitude and Unity. As the last few weeks have been hard for each one of us, we wanted to stand in solidarity to celebrate Eid, by helping labours and needy people. He also said that “We are together to be part of UAE. Serving these meals is our core social responsibility."

KSCC recently conducted humanitarian services during COVID-19 pandemic in 2 phases and conducted Blood Donation Drive. They have also planned to conduct next Blood Donation Drive on 25th May, 2020.

The KSCC main objective is to develop the expatriate community into a well-nourished section of society in the areas of social, sports and cultural activities.

Dubai, Aug 6: Non-resident Indian entrepreneur and philanthropist Dewakara Alva passed away on Thursday August 6. He was 63.

Alva, who hailed from Mangaluru, was the director of Federal Insurance Brokers LLC, Dubai and was residing in Dubai for around four decades. He was reportedly suffering from health problems for last few months. 

He was a patron of Tulu and Kannada language and culture in United Arab Emirates. He was a member of various NRI organizations including UAE Tulu Koota and UAE Bunts

Alva is survived by wife Saritha, daughter Powshali, and son Manal.

Kuwait City, Aug 9: Indian social forum organised Blood Donation Camp in association with central blood bank kuwait on Friday, 7th August 2020.

The forum organised camp to support the high demand of blood in the context of COVID-19.

All arrangements to maintain COVID-19 protocol were made in the camp including segregation of donors as branch wise batches along with strict safety measures of participants.

Forum also had donated blood to many patients during the lockdown period. 

Hundreds of people donated blood in the camp. The camp organised in Blood Bank, Jabriya was successfully managed by Dr. Asma Rafat and leaders of Indian social forum Vice President Aslam, Secretory Sayyid Bukhari Thangal, Moideen Koya, Khaleel, Aseem, Mohammed Sha, Shihab, Naushad,
Indian Social Forum expressed their deep appreciation and gratitude to the doctors, staff and management of blood bank, forum’s members and donors.
