Abu Dhabi: EIFF, SKMC hold World Health Day

Abu Dhabi, Apr 14: Emirates India Fraternity Forum (EIFF) and  Sheikh Khalifah Medical City, Abu Dhabi jointly organised a blood donation camp on April 7 in commemoration of World Health Day on the premises of Abu Dhabi Blood Bank, Khaldiya, Abu Dhabi  to support the noble cause with the theme ‘Blood Pressure Silent Killer’.

The Programme started with qirath by Abdul Rasheed, followed by inaugural address by Siddiq Uchila.

Dr. Wael Al Mahmeed, chief cardiologist of SKMC, Dr. Naima Oumeziane MD, Specialist, Hematology, Head of Abu Dhabi Blood Bank, Dr. AP Ahmed MBBS, MRCP UK and Dr.Shujaat Rahman, BDS, BSc. DTMPH (Germany) , Oxford Medical Center Abu Dhabi along with Mohammad Ali, President of BWF were guest of honours.

Dr. Wael Al Mahmeed, Chief Cardiologist of SKMC, delivered a lecture on "Preventing the Heart disease” followed by a question and answer session. He said that cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the UAE and the common causes of heart failure include heart attack, hypertension, and other heart diseases.

Dr. Naima Oumeziane MD, Specialist, Hematology, Head of Abu Dhabi Blood Bank, emphasized the importance of blood donation and its merits since the people know that blood is a base of every human life and there is no life without blood, this makes its value priceless.

Dr. AP Ahmed MBBS, MRCP UK, MD Oxford Medical Center Abu Dhabi gave a presentation on ‘Blood Pressure Silent Killer’. High blood pressure is called the "silent killer" because it often has no warning signs or symptoms, and many people don't realize they have it. That's why it's important to get your blood pressure checked regularly. High blood pressure increases your risk for heart disease. People irrespective of their age have to take steps to keep their blood pressure levels normal and to have regular check-up.

A brief presentation was displayed regarding the activities of Emirates India Fraternity Forum (EIFF) followed with its future plans which was very much appreciated by the guests and audience.

Though more than 80 people were registered for Blood Donation due to lacks of time only 50 persons were able to donate the blood which made the program a grand success.

Mr. Muhammad Ali, program coordinator, conveyed the vote of thanks to the Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan UAE President and Ruler of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Union Defence Force for their support and all the donors, Chief Guests for their valuable health tips also to Abu Dhabi Blood Bank staff for the assistance they provided and the volunteers who actively participated to make this event a successful one.

Manama: Kannada Sangha Bahrain President Mr. Pradeep Shetty and Vice President of Bahrain's prestigious KHK HEROES Foundation Mohammed Mansoor on Monday, May 11, met The Second Secretary (Consular & CW) of the Embassy of India, Bahrain Mr. P. K. Chowdhury in the Indian Embassy. 

The situation, problems and relief of Indians and Kannadigas residing in Bahrain during the COVID 19 Pandemic was discussed in detail. The distribution of food (dry ration) kits, as well as those seeking repatriation, was also discussed in the meeting.

When asked about the repatriation of distressed Kannadigas, the Second Secretary said that though the number of Kannadigas who wish to return home is not much compared to the rest of the states, still Embassy is compiling all the information and will do the needful soon. 

Mr. Shetty and Mr. Mansoor told the Second Secretary that those who are in problem can contact them and they are ready to do their best.

Riyadh, Feb 24: Indian Islahi Center, Riyadh (IICR) kicked off the propagation campaign of "Learn the Quran" national conference, which is slated to be held on March 27, 2020 at Nofa Istiraha, Exit 18, Riyadh, Kingdom Saudi Arabia. It's IICR's 20th successful program.

Kerala Legislative Assembly's opposition leader & Congress leader, Ramesh Chennitthala inaugurated the campaign that was held at Voco Hotel in Riyadh, capital city of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Ramesh was on two days visit in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The objective of the campaign is to instil the keenness & to keep creating the continuous awareness amongst the community on Quran. It also enables to recite the Quran with Tajweed (science of reading the Quran) & correct form.

Aboobakker Edthanatukkara (President of IICR), Abdul Qayyum Bustani, Kunhi Kumbala, Abdullah Vallanchira, Adv. Abdul Jaleel, Naushad Ali Kozhikode, Mujeeb Ali Thodigappulam, Muhammad Kutty Kadannamanna, Fasal Rahman City Flower, Mujeeb Irumbuzhi, Jaleel Alappuzha, Arafat & others were present on the occasion.

Dammam: Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka chapter distributed Food Kits for Indian expatriates labors who were in trouble due to Corona lockdown on April 6, 2020 at a labor camp here in Al Khobar.

The labors, most of them are from the staes of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh And Uttar Pradesh, were in trouble without food.

 Recieving the information leaders of Indian Social Forum immediately visited the camp to take survey.

Indian Social Forum with the help of donors distributed food kits. Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka Chapter president Mr.Mohammed Shareef Jokatte expressed gratitude for donors for their contribution.
