KMYM bids farewell to P M Mansoor in Riyadh

Riyadh, May 6: Katipalla Muslim Youth Association (KMYA) gave a glorious farewell to its former President and and founder member P.M Mansoor who rendered his 34 years service in Saudi Arabia and 24 years service to Katipallians, on its 4^th Executive Committee Members Meeting held at A.K Shabeer's Residence in Batha, Riyadh.

The occasion started with recitation of holy Qur’an by Saif Mahin. The occasion witnessed the large number of KMYA members to show their love and respect to Mr. P.M Mansoor on his farewell and wished him the great success.

KMYA President Mr. Sulaiman praised the remarkable contribution of Mr. P.M Mansoor for the KMYA committee and to Katipallian community.

KMYA Vice Presidents Mr. S. U Zubair and P.S Abdul Azeez, Organizing Secretary Mr Hussain Shafi, Treasurer Ashfaq Ahamed and senior members Mr Rafi Ahamed, Ameeruddeen, P.H Mohiddeen, A.K Shabeer and others were present at the occasion and wished a good future to P.M. Mansoor.

Two copies of the Holy Quraan and a Memento was presented to Mr. P M Mansoor by Committee's senior members Mr. Rafi Ahmed, Mr. Ameeruddeen and P.H Mohiddeen as a symbol of his valuable service to the organization and to the society.

Dr Sam Pitroda hods video conference with Indian Overseas Congress leaders in Middle East over Covid-19

Indian Overseas Congress (IOC) Chaiman Dr Sam Pitroda held video conference with senior IOC office bearers across Middle Eastern countries on 14th April 2020 to review the impact of COVID-19 pandemic among Indians residing in the region. Almost all speakers appreciated the efforts initiated and implemented by respective governments to contain spread of the deadly virus as well as measures taken towards welfare of the people affected by the lockdown.

IOC Presidents, Mohammed Mansour - Bahrain, Abdullah Manjeri - Saudi Arabia, Dr J Ratan kunar - Oman and Girish kumar - Qatar, highlighted the quality treatment of patients and finacial aid provided by governments and other authorities. Bahrain IOC president Mansour , also apprised about the 'Food for Needy' drive in Association with KHK Heroes foundation, initiated by HH Sheikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al Khalifa and quality treatments as well as financial aid to local and expat residents.

Anura Mathai, IOC Global Event Coordinator, spoke about certain problems of Indians in the UAE. IOC Middle East Convener, Mansoor Palloor, emphasised and requested IOC Chairman to urge Indian government to arrange immediate repatriation of indians stranded in Gulf countries. AICC Secretary, Himanshu Vyas, IOC Secretary Dr Arathi Krishna, Dr Arshi Malik (Abha), Mohiuddin Sirajudeen (Jeddah), Advocate Joseph Palathara (Dammam) Prasad Kodru, Jayati Maitra Ziyad Ahmed (Qatar) and Khursheed Alam (Gen Secretary- Bahrain) also apprised the participants about various issues relevant to the pandemic and suggested further initiatives to be undertaken.

Dr Sam Pitroda briefed about sustained and consolidated efforts by all IOC members during this unprecedented situation facing the world and assured that he would convey IOC concerns to the government and try his best to ensure all possible help is made available to all needy Indians.

‘Nama Tuluveru’ Purushotham Salian passes away in UAE

Dubai, Aug 7: ‘Nama Tuluve’ Purushotham Salian, a staunch stalwart who always supported humanity and a strong pillar for Tuluvas in Dubai, passed away August, 4 at Al Tawam Hospital Al Ain. He was suffering from cancer and was admitted to Al Tawam Hospital Al Ain some time ago. He was on the last stage of illness which was not detected earlier.

His funeral last rites were conducted on Thursday August 7 at Jebel Ali cemetery in Hindu rites with a few of his family members present. Due to Covid pandemic, neither his body was able to be flown back to hometown nor could his two children come down to attend the funeral. However, it was said that his wish was to be cremated here in Dubai which unknowingly sometime back he whispered to one of his friends.

Purushotham had few years ago, survived a heart attack and fought back his life, though it had a minor paralytic effect on him. Even though, till recently he used to do his day-to-day work normally. He was a hard working personality and owned a readymade garment shop in Ajman and Dubai mostly taking care of clients with requirement of uniforms and coveralls. His dedication towards work was always appreciated by his clients who used to get their things delivered on time always.

He was never a publicity person and was helping the poor and needy in whatever ways he could silently. He strongly supported the community and was associated with Nama Tuluveru and Billawa community with commitment. He used to voluntarily come forward for the ground work of various functions of the community and used to be there until it was done perfectly.

KSCC holds blood donation drive in Dubai

Dubai: A blood donation drive was conducted by Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club (KSCC) at in Al Wasl Club Stadium here on Friday, 26th June 2020.

The drive started around 1:00 pm and continued till 4:00 pm as per schedule provided by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) Blood Donation Centre and 60 people donated blood to support the Blood Bank. The drive was well organised by maintaining social distance in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As blood cannot be produced but only can be donated, this drive will help many patients in need of blood during emergencies. Donors were also feeling proud and happy at this moment thinking of saving someone’s life.

DHA Blood Donation Centre staff carried out the screening and testing done in very well manner keeping social distancing during this pandemic. Volunteers of KSCC were also helping the staff to keep people in safe distance and to make this drive a success.

KSCC Manager Mr. Mohammad Shafi and other office bearers were present at the event venue. KSCC thanked the volunteers, Community Development of Authority (CDA), Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Blood Donation Centre, Government of Dubai and Al Wasl Club Stadium for making the event successful.
