Riyadh, Jul 1: Ramadan is a month of blessings and resourcefulness. It is a unique month in which the glorious Qur’an was first revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). It is not important to give special importance to delicious recipes in this month. Rather one should try to uphold the respect and grandeur which the holy Quran commands,” said Shaikh Omar Madani, calling upon the masses to welcome the month of Ramadan with a guarantee to uphold the sanctity of glorious Qur’an.

He was speaking on a central theme- ‘How to welcome Ramadan?’ at the Sultanah Call and Guidance centre- for Kannada Section at Riyadh recently. He began his discourse by alluding to the Quranic verse which says how the Quran differentiates Truth from falsehood and how it provides true guidance for mankind. He further reminded that by following the tenets of Quran in our lives we render true respect and uphold its sanctity.

The programme commenced with the recitation of Quran. Abbas Bardila delivered welcome address. Shakir Ullal who spoke on Taqwa (piety) emphasized the importance of being personal example rather rendering it as a mere rhetoric. Quoting a hadit - “Allah does not look at the outward beauty of a person. Rather He looks at their hearts and deeds” he called upon the gathering how it is very much relevant to inculcate genuine fear of Allah and conscious emulation to attain paradise.”

“Our prayers should not be mechanical but it should absorb the teachings ordained by Allah and performed with all humbleness and sincerity,” he exhorted.

During the concluding of question and answers session, Shaikh Omar Madani answered the questions and clarified the doubts expressed by the audience with positive clarifications and objectively dealt with each and every question. Hanif Bikarnakatte proposed a vote of thanks. Mohammed Azzam co-ordinated the programme.
