Kuwait, Sep 9: Fahaheel and Abu-Halifa units of Indian Muslim Association (IMA-Kuwait) in cooperation with IPC organised Eid and Independence Day get-together at Sheikh Bader Ahmed Sabah hall Abu Halifa.

Iqbal Mulla, guest of Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, delivered a thought provoking lecture on the topic “Development of the nation and communal harmony”.

He highlighted the fact that India in comparison to many of its neighbours has made tremendous development since its independence.

He said India is rapidly moving in its development path and will be a developed nation in the near future. However he reminded the audience that mere increase in infrastructure and GDP cannot be the only criterion for development. He said the degeneration of moral values of the individuals cannot be ignored in the face of development.

He called upon the people to turn towards their creator, ponder upon the reasons that we have been sent into this world by our creator and cultivate highest moral values.

He mentioned that that as per Islam there is no compulsion in religion. God has already shown the right path to the humanity. it is now the choice of individuals to follow it. Failing to follow the path prescribed by the almighty will lead to a huge disaster in life after death, he said.

He also answered various questions put forth by the audiences diligently.

Vinod Kumar, First secretary, Embassy of India Kuwait was the guest of honour. He emphasized on the fact that development can only be achieved when all the communities worked towards the development of the nation. He also appreciated the activities of IMA.

Abdul Aziz Al Duaij, Manager, Community Services Najat Society and CH. Rama Krushna Chary, Secretary American Society of safety Engineers (Kuwait Chapter), who were the guests of honour addressed the audiences and appreciated the efforts of IMA in bringing together people from different faith.

The programme was convened by Parvez Hanif. Masood Shehab, President, IMA, proposed vote of thanks. The programme started with the recitation of the verses from the holy Quran by Master Hafiz Owaiz and concluded with a buffet dinner.
