IMA hosts public lecture on Hijra New Year

Kuwait City, Nov 16: Indian Muslim Association (IMA-Kuwait) in cooperation with Masjid Kabir organized a public lecture on Hijra New Year at JamiathulIslah Auditorium Rawda.

Mohammed Ali, head of Jaliyath Masjid Kabir was the guest of honor. He praised the activities of IMA and reminded that Islam is a religion of peace and brotherhood. He said the concept of equality in Islam was unmatched. 

Masood Shehab, President IMA in his introductory remarks briefed about the various activities of IMA and emphasized the importance of these programs. He said Hijra was an important event in the history of Islam and a true test of the faith of the Muslims in Makkah. 

Sharafuddin Soofi was the key note speaker of the function. He talked on the topic “How to start a new year”.  He said every great thing has a humble beginning, planning for a new year should begin with setting high goals and making a humble beginning towards achieving this goal.

He said that we should undertake Hijra at every stage of life such as from wrongdoings to good deeds. He further added that, “the Hijra opened the door for continued success and revolutionized every aspect of the life of Muslim Ummah. He mentioned series of success attained after migration of Prophet Muhammad to Madinah, which includes strengthening of faith, economic stability, social wellbeing, religious training and establishments of Islamic principles in every aspect of life; in short it was a paradigm shift for the Muslims in comparison to their earlier lifestyle.

While elaborating on the subject of ‘Lessons from the magnificent event of Hijra' Mr. Shamvel Parvez, Head of IMA education department said that the objective of Hijra was to establish a society based on Islamic principles. He further stated, “The entire event of migration of prophet Muhammad (PBUH) gives innumerable lessons to the Muslim community. However he expressed sadness that Muslims today have forgotten the actual message of Hijra.

A beautiful narrative was presented by children on the topic “People of Heaven & People of Hell”. Mariam & Safiya quoted various verses from the holy Quran and reminded the audiences about the qualities of the people of heaven & hell. The Program was convened by Mr. ArshadHabeeb. Dinner packets were distributed at the end of the program. The Program started with the recitation of the verses from the holy Quran by Master Imaduddin

Dammam: President of Indian Social Forum, Eastern Province Mr.Wasim Rabbani urged immediate intervention of Indian government to help Non Residential Indians who are in trouble due to corona pandemic in Saudi Arabia.

He said in a press rease that expatriate Indians are in concern  as number of corona infected people and  deaths are increasing in danger level.

Hea said, "the Saudi health minister's statement a few days ago indicates that the situation in Saudi needs to be taken more seriously with precautionary methods. There are concerns among expatriates because the number of people infected with the coronavirus and the number of deaths reported in various provinces are increasing at an alarming rate."

"Saudi Government and Health Ministry are taking excellent precautionary measures, however, in the coming days expect to see the number of cases to increase in Saudi Arabia. The Indian government needs to take diplomatic and immediate intervention to ensure the treatment of Indian expatriates considering the number of effected people increasing", He said.

He also urged that the Embassy and the Government of India should ensure qaurantiane faculty for Indian expatriates and arrange special low cost flights to bring back expatriates who would like to return home country.

" Government of India and Indian embassy need to intervene immediately to ensure that the quarantine system is in place for Indian expatriates as the facilities in the rooms where the residents are staying together are very limited. There should also be a mechanism to organize low-cost flight services for expatriates who are ready to go home. The government system should also be able to accommodate the expatriates in special quarantine areas in hometown as soon they arrive in India", he urged.

Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club (KSCC) organized Blood Donation Camp at Latifa Hospital, Oud Mehta Dubai on April 23rd, 2020 in association with Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and with support from Community Development Authority (CDA) Government of Dubai.

Blood Donation Drive started in the morning at 7:30 am to 6:00 pm. Around 48 people participated in this drive and donated blood to support the Dubai Blood Bank.

A potential shortage of blood for transfusions has been occurred due to a significant reduction in voluntary blood donations during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic. The current pandemic, health services are now running with shortages of blood availability. To support the DHA Blood Bank KSCC taken initiative to ensure that blood donations continued and are safe for both the donor and the recipient.

After taking safety precaution and safe distance during the blood donation donors feeling happy and honored to participate and donate blood at this pandemic situation. Club Manager Mr. Mohammad Shafi was also present during this event.

KSCC appreciated all the blood donors and be grateful to Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Community Development Authority (CDA), and Government of Dubai for their association for this event. They also thanked the volunteers and supporters.
