Mangaluru, Oct 25: Following the recent IT raid in private colleges, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister Dr C N Ashwat Narayan on Friday cleared the air on illegal blocking of medical seats and said that no such malpractices are taking place in the state.
Speaking to media at the airport here, Mr Narayan said that the information about this possible scandal can only be revealed through an investigation by Income Tax Department.
“IT has conducted raid regarding illegal property. If Medical seats are not filled then there is opportunity for the College Management to fill them. According to the government rules, the seats can be filled via Management quota," he added in reply to a question whether there is a possibility of former DCM and Senior Congress leader Dr G Parameshwara run Educational Institution is involved in seat blocking.
