No states are willing for slashing of GST slab for automobile sector

Bengaluru, Sep 14: The Bihar Deputy Chief minister, Sushil Kumar Modi, who is also head GoM on GST Revenue shortfall, maintained that no state governments are in favor of slashing the GST slab for the Automobile sector from 28 per cent to 18 per cent, fearing loss of revenue.

Speaking to newsmen after a meeting of Group of ministers on IT for GST implementation, here on Saturday, said that “I have spoke to Finance ministers of several states, and nobody shown any kind of inclination to reduce the slab rate of taxes for Automobile sector, which stood at 28 per cent”.

“I don’t think that any state will agree to bring down the rate of GST from 28 per cent to 18 per cent” he said.

Mangaluru, May 15: The second evacuation flight from Dubai to Mangaluru is expected to bring nearly 180 stranded UAE Kannadigas on May 18.

Air India Express B737-800NG aircraft will take off from terminal 2 of Dubai International Airport at 1.30 pm UAE time and land in Mangaluru International Airport at 6.30 pm local time, sources said.

Mangaluru Airport had witnessed chaos when the first repatriation flight arrived on May 12. Now many passengers of the first flight tested positive for the covid-19.

Bengaluru, Jun 3: The Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences at Hubballi has successfully treated a COVID-19 patient through plasma therapy, state medical education minister K Sudhakar said today.

"Karnataka achieves yet another milestone in battle against #COVID19. KIMS Hubli has successfully treated a Covid19 patient through Plasma Therapy & is the first institute in the state to accomplish this. Congrats to KIMS doctors & staff for this feat!" Mr Sudhakar tweeted.

In plasma therapy treatment, plasma cells from a COVID-19 patient, who has recovered from the disease, is transfused to a coronavirus patient who is in critical condition to treat him.

Plasma therapy was effectively used in the past during Ebola and the Spanish flu pandemic.

Bengaluru, Mar 29: Seven new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in Karnataka since Saturday 5 pm to 2 pm on Sunday.

The total number of positive cases in the state stands at 83, out of which five have been cured/discharged and three have lost their lives, according to the Karnataka Health Department.

A total of 979 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported in India, informed the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Sunday.
