Mysuru, Apr 19: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has said that the leaders from Badami Assembly segment were pressuring him to contest from there.
Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday Siddaramaiah said that leaders such as S R Patil and others visited his house on Tuesday night requesting him to contest from Badami.
According to the leaders, there was confusion in the constituency since there were many aspirants for the Congress ticket and Siddaramaiah's candidature from Badami will be beneficial for north Karnataka. "However, a final decision will be made after an assessment on Wednesday night," Siddaramaiah added.
Replying to a query, the chief minister clarified that he had made it clear to the party high command that he was not interested to contest from two constituencies.
