NRI gets 10 years jail in Saudi for abusive tweets against the Prophet

Kasaragod, Jan 29: A non-resident Indian hailing from Kerala has been sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for a series of abusive tweets against Prophet Mohammed.

The convict is Vishnu Dev son of Radhakrishnan Nair. Though initially he was sentenced to 5 years of jail term recently the quantum of punishment was increased.

According to a letter received by the family of Vishnu from the Consular, Passport and Visa Division of the Ministry of External Affairs, he was arrested for “cybercrime pertaining to blasphemy and spreading messages against the Kingdom through social media.”

He was arrested on June 7, 2018. On September 13, he was given a five-year jail term and a penalty of 1.5 lakh Saudi Riyal. His sentence was increased to 10 years on January 24,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mr Nair, who resides in Alappuzha, said that he had sought the help of several politicians to get his son released from jail, but to no avail.

Vishnu was working as an engineer at Nasser S Al-Hajri Corporation, a subsidiary of Saudi Aramco, before his arrest.

You might be follower of enemies of islam in India, but you cannot do it in Saudi Arabia or Gulf countries. You mihgt have been brainwashed in india but anti national and anti muslim political parties, who are trying to make use of you to spread hate among different communities for their political benefit. At last you will be the one to suffer. No political for whom you are working will not come to support you and they will say you are not related to their party and there is no connection between you and the party. dont get fooled by these hate political parties. I am sorry for the fate of this unfortunate person and hope he will be freed at the earliest possible. This is good lesson for all hate mongers in Saudi Arabia. Dont bring your dirty politics to saudi arab ia. People from all religion are living peacefully here. They eat together and live together as one family.

Karnataka students stranded in Malaysia seek help from CM to return

Bengaluru, May 17: A group of 86 college students, who went to Malaysia for internship and have been stranded due to lockdown, have appealed to Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa to help them return to Karnataka.

The students in the video have also mentioned Union Minister D V Sadananda Gowda and Kolar MP S Muniswamy and stated that States such as Kerala and Tamil Nadu have made arrangements to bring back their natives from South East Asia.

The students added that they are in the Selangor State of Malaysia. They had arrived there on March 13 for a three-month-long internship as part of their college studies. They are living in apartments arranged by their college and money with them is almost spent, their college is extending them support in this regard. They are not in a position to complete the remaining two months of internship due to lock-down in Malaysia.

7 booked for organising protest without Police permission in Bantwal

Bantwal, Jan 11: Seven people were booked for organising protest without taking permission or intimation, police said on Saturday.

The alleged accused were identified as Nandavar Juma Masjid President Basheer, Khateeb of the Masjid Abdul Majeed Darimi, Gram Panchayath President Mohammed Shareef Nandavar, former President of Masjid Majeed, Arif Nandavar, Mustafa and Abubaker.

They have been booked for allegedly organising protest outside Nandavar Juma Masjid on Jan 10 afternoon without intimation to police or obtaining permission.

Mangaluru airport bomb planter Aditya Rao surrenders; calls it act of revenge

Bengaluru, Jan 22: The suspected man in planting of a live bomb at the Mangaluru International Airport surrendered before the DG and IG of Karnataka Police, Neelamani Raju, here on Wednesday, police sources said.

The accused was identified as Aditya Rao, a resident of Udupi.

The accused was taken for questioning by the Halasurugate Police, where he was being interrogated intensively, the sources further said.

According to them, he confessed that he planted an explosive device at Mangaluru Airport on Monday said that it was an act of revenge for denying him an employment by the Kempegowda International Airport Limited (KIAL).

He was arrested by the Bengaluru police in the past for making a hoax call to the police stating that a bomb had been planted at the Bengaluru Airport.

Karnataka Home minister Basavaraj Bommai told the media that 'the Bengaluru police have taken the custody of Aditya Rao, who is being subjected for a thorough interrogation'.

The Mangaluru police was also likely to join the Bengaluru police into the investigation, the sources added.

This would have been a false flag operation, if he was not caught, they would have been an explosions and Dr.police would have put muslim youths behind bars...or that was the intention/plan but due to unforseen reasons failed......i hope someone comes out with the truth..
