Oman: ‘Bandhavya – 2017’ held

Muscat: The Karnataka chapter of Social Forum Oman organised ‘Bandhavya – 2017” an annual family get-together on February 10, 2017 at Halban Farm House, Barka in a festive environment.

The people living in Oman with memories of their village struck with wonder by the spending arrangement of village market, which flashed them their childhood days. Hut shops, fair price ration store, road side stalls having all village food like hot and spicy snacks, and drinks like gas-soda etc attracted visitors as well as guests and refreshed their minds. For a moment, they felt like they were in their childhood once again. The audience gathered there were very happy and they felt proud that they could see their native place coastal village in Muscat.

It all started with games for children and other type of all rural sports for all age groups. Everyone present in the program participated in the competition without any hesitation. For ladies, ladies volunteer conducted all sports and games separately. This made them remind the days spent with their friends with sweet and sour memories of their childhood days. All men and women participated enthusiastically and their expression and appreciation made the organizer worth for 3 months hard working for this event.

The chief guest of program, Mr. Shafi Bellare, State Council Member of Popular Front of India praised all people who worked hard in making this program successful one. He also praised the relationship in the community of Karnataka. According to the current situation, due to lack of understanding and unity delayed Indian Muslims to get their rights, hence he urged these type of gathering should become an environment for unity and platform to solve all existing problems and which is the need of hour. He further said, if we keep continuing this type of attachment, it is imminent the tranquillity we are looking for.

On the stage, the President of Social Forum- Central, Abdul Hameed Panemangalore, Karnataka Chapter Vice President, Syed Moidin Saheb sastan, the President of Pravasi Forum, Karnataka Chapter, Anwar Moodabidre were present. They appreciated all the performers, and winners were given prizes.

Abbas Kaikamba welcomed the guests. Noor Mohammed Padubidre anchored the program and Riyaz Gangolli proposed the vote of thanks. The program was managed by Salam Bailoor and Asif Bailoor.

The program was sponsored by Cochin Jewellery and Al Nahdah Construction, where by free medical camp also arranged for public. At the end of program dinner served for everyone which is prepared by members of Social Forum at the venue, reminding the environment of wedding ceremony which was one more attraction of this program.

Dubai: Karnataka Sports & Cultural Club (KSCC) distributed Eid Kit across the UAE (Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Al Ain, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah to the ) needy people on Eid al Fitr.

KSCC President Mr. Mohammed Ismail Said: “Eid is a Symbol of Gratitude and Unity. As the last few weeks have been hard for each one of us, we wanted to stand in solidarity to celebrate Eid, by helping labours and needy people. He also said that “We are together to be part of UAE. Serving these meals is our core social responsibility."

KSCC recently conducted humanitarian services during COVID-19 pandemic in 2 phases and conducted Blood Donation Drive. They have also planned to conduct next Blood Donation Drive on 25th May, 2020.

The KSCC main objective is to develop the expatriate community into a well-nourished section of society in the areas of social, sports and cultural activities.

On behalf of KSCC, and the entire executive council Mr. Mohammed Ismail, President of Club, extended a very heartly thanks and gratitude to the Main sponsor of the event M/s. EMSQUARE, Engineering Consultant, and Tawakkal Overseas Dubai.

Kuwait: The Covid-19 pandemic has pushed the whole world into a difficult situation and the situation of Indians in Kuwait is not any different. Many people have lost their jobs, have no salary, are deprived of food and are not able to pay rent. The appalling conditions of labourers, domestic workers, taxi drivers and low waged earners don’t seem to end in Kuwait. 

At this trying situation when many people were even afraid of leaving their houses because of coronavirus, Suresh S. Rao Neramballi, volunteer of the Food Kit Distribution at the ICSG (Indian Community Support Group) has helped many tremendously. He was ready to go around delivering food kits at any time possible by his car. However, after Kuwait imposed a full curfew from 11th May 2020, no one could take out their vehicles unless they had a curfew pass. 

This did not stop Mr. Suresh Neramballi, who then borrowed a bicycle from a friend and ended up going around in the cycle delivering the food kits in curfew break time (4:30pm to 6:30pm) to all those who registered in the ICSG website. This selfless service surely commands appreciation and applause. Mr. Suresh Neramballi has been a light for many families and bachelors in Kuwait and will surely garner the blessings of them who have been able to eat at this time.

He was also the one who could deliver the food kits to many Indian Muslim maids, bachelors, laborers and families previous day and right on the day of EID, as they were not able to go shopping for their groceries for EID, due to the curfew. They blessed him in EID dua. 

Mr. Suresh Neramballi hails from Mangaluru, India and is an Engineer in the Oil sector company in Kuwait. He has been dedicated to social service, achieved 'Aryabhata International Award' for his Kannada Service and Social service, served in many Associations and Distributor of Kannada and Tulu Movies in Kuwait. He wholeheartedly thanks the people and government of Kuwait for his bread and butter.

God bless you brother and keep you healthy plus happy always.   You will be in the prayers of those who receivec your timely regardles they are hindu or muslim or christian.   This is a slap on the face of hate mongers who are always trying to divide the socieity in the name of religion.    Such people are burden to this world and society.   We should clean our society from such dirt and bad people.   Well done brother.  May God bless you.

Dubai: A non-profitable social organization, KSCC is delivering a great service to the community during this pandemic situation.

Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club is a civil organization registered under Community Development Authority (CDA) involved in implementing various UAE government initiatives, blood donation drives, health campaigns, sport events, charity works, awareness programs and much more.

KSCC is currently actively liaising with Dubai government authorities in discharging the needs and requirements of the people in these challenging covid-19 pandemic times. It is also involved the activities such as logistics, coordinating stores, mobilizing isolation centers, equipping quarantine facilities and volunteering services.

During these testing times, KSCC is also facilitating the Guidance to the general public, follow-up up to 122 covid positive cases, counselling the affected, assisting the references and providing the ever-necessary emotional support by setting up a team of 24 reserved persons for call center helplines.

As per the request from DHA (Dubai Health Authority) KSCC has successfully organized the blood donation drive and donated upto 141 units of blood with the help of KSCC members & supporters.

Apart from above, KSCC is also engaged in serving needy by distributing the food provisional kit (Yestahloon) from the very 1st day of lockdown till day by their special task force team under guidelines of CDA, and also taking into consideration the month of Ramadan, team is successfully distributing Iftar food & provision kit with the help of donors.

In the 1st Phase, KSCC covered 2421 beneficiaries by providing 440 provisional food kits, 435 food pack and 529 Iftar kits.

As per the CDA guidelines, club is also engaged in following up the health condition of senior citizens living in UAE.

KSCC special team is also engaged in clearing documentation and formalities related to dead body repatriation until its final procedures and handing over to relatives with help of UAE governments authorities. Total 5 dead bodies are repatriated in their 1st phase of service.

KSCC is also having a center controlled special task team to assist all above activities during the covid-19 pandemic to continue the services to general public.

KSCC thanks all Government authorities, Members in different task team, supporters and Sponsors company MAERSK, MALABAR GOLD & DIAMOND and TAMIL ENTREPRENEUR for their support and also request extend their support to consolidate the above demanding service and deliver our best possible assistance not only because it is the month of Ramadan, but also our responsibility to reach out to the poor and needy, during this fight against Covid-19.
