Oman Tuluver holds get-together

Muscat: Oman Tuluver, comprising of ardent enthusiasts of art, culture and sports organized a get together and many members from the various communities attended the event.

Ramananda Shetty ,on behalf of Oman Tuluver ,welcomed the august gathering of the guests from various communities of Tulunadu .and introduced the organizing committee of five members , namely , Ramananda Shetty, Padmakar Mendon , Sudhir Shetty , Arun Poojary and Rajesh Shetty.

Majan Events, in association with Oman Tuluver will present "Manikantha Mahime", a Kannada Yakshagana, on Friday, October 14,2016, at The Grand Hall ,.Al Falaj Hotel. Muscat., which is their maiden cultural event for the year 2016.

Oman Tuluver commenced the proceedings with the traditional lighting of the florally decorated lamp.

The following members partook in the lighting of the lamp to mark the inaugural moments of the evening by the members of the various communities. - Laxmi Narayana Acharya , Shanker Shetty , S.K. Poojary , Ramesh Shettigar, Prakash Naik , Vivian Pereira, Seetharam Achar, Narasimha Nayak, Mohammed Shukoor , Ganesh Banjan, Santosh Kumble and Chinmaya Sherigar.

The other members and well wishers of Oman Tuluver namely ,Shashidhar Shetty ,Divakar Shetty ,Ashok Suvarna, Dr. Anchan .C.K. , Niranjan Shettigar, Nagesh Shetty, Shrikanth Shetty, Yuvaraj Salian, Girish Kanchan, Nagendra Prasad, Manjunath Nayak, and Srinivas Shriyan , were unable to attend the function , but have conveyed their support and best wishes to Oman tuluver team.

The beautifully designed Logo of Oman Tuluver , depicting the essence of Tuluva culture.,was inaugurated Oman Tuluver proudly announced their activities by their Help centre. They congratulated Sunil Shetty and Suraj Shetty.

Oman Tuluver ,got the colorful flyer of the Yakshagana prasanga" Manikantha Mahime".,released by the members of the various communities , namely Ganesh Shetty, Arunakar Shetty, Guru Prasad Amin, Ravindra Achar ,Shekar Shetty ,Jayaram Rao, S.D.T. Prasad, Syed Mohiddin Sastan and Melwyn.

The ticket copies were released by the following members by the members of the various communities - Rathnakar Acharya, Mahabala Mendon, Damodar Shetty, Gangadhar Poojary, Karunakar Rao, Ramanand Kunder , Dr.Ranjan, Monabba Beary, and Pradeep Alva.

Oman Tuluver are highly elated by the wholehearted support and encouragement by the response and enthusiasm expressed and displayed by the members and art lovers here.

The well renowned exponent Bhagavathar , Patla Sathish Shetty ,will regale the audience with his classique renditions, alongwith the other renowned artistes Akshay Kumar Marnad, Laxman Marakada, Kishore Gatti, Prashanth Vogenadu, Gangadhar Shettigar, Shekar Shettigar, Girish Kumar, Sharath Poojary and artistes from Yakshamitra Troupe.

Kuwait: The Covid-19 pandemic has pushed the whole world into a difficult situation and the situation of Indians in Kuwait is not any different. Many people have lost their jobs, have no salary, are deprived of food and are not able to pay rent. The appalling conditions of labourers, domestic workers, taxi drivers and low waged earners don’t seem to end in Kuwait. 

At this trying situation when many people were even afraid of leaving their houses because of coronavirus, Suresh S. Rao Neramballi, volunteer of the Food Kit Distribution at the ICSG (Indian Community Support Group) has helped many tremendously. He was ready to go around delivering food kits at any time possible by his car. However, after Kuwait imposed a full curfew from 11th May 2020, no one could take out their vehicles unless they had a curfew pass. 

This did not stop Mr. Suresh Neramballi, who then borrowed a bicycle from a friend and ended up going around in the cycle delivering the food kits in curfew break time (4:30pm to 6:30pm) to all those who registered in the ICSG website. This selfless service surely commands appreciation and applause. Mr. Suresh Neramballi has been a light for many families and bachelors in Kuwait and will surely garner the blessings of them who have been able to eat at this time.

He was also the one who could deliver the food kits to many Indian Muslim maids, bachelors, laborers and families previous day and right on the day of EID, as they were not able to go shopping for their groceries for EID, due to the curfew. They blessed him in EID dua. 

Mr. Suresh Neramballi hails from Mangaluru, India and is an Engineer in the Oil sector company in Kuwait. He has been dedicated to social service, achieved 'Aryabhata International Award' for his Kannada Service and Social service, served in many Associations and Distributor of Kannada and Tulu Movies in Kuwait. He wholeheartedly thanks the people and government of Kuwait for his bread and butter.

God bless you brother and keep you healthy plus happy always.   You will be in the prayers of those who receivec your timely regardles they are hindu or muslim or christian.   This is a slap on the face of hate mongers who are always trying to divide the socieity in the name of religion.    Such people are burden to this world and society.   We should clean our society from such dirt and bad people.   Well done brother.  May God bless you.

The Overseas Indian Cultural Congress (OICC), Bahrain, has charted aircrafts to repatriate stranded expatriates to India. 

Boby Parayil, General Secretary, OICC National Committee, Bahrain has thanked all those who supported in this cause.

“The aircrafts were not licensed and were in crisis until the last minute. Finally, Mohammed Mansoor, president of Bahrain chapter of Indian Overseas Congress approached IOC Middle East in charge Dr Arathi Krishna, who helped get permission to operate flight to Kozhikode,” he said in a release. 

All mandatory approvals from the Foreign Ministry of Affairs and other government officials were accomplished by Dr Arathi Krishna. OICC has expressed gratitude to her for her timely support, he said. 

OICC is also grateful to former Kerala chief minister Oommen Chandy for doing necessary arrangements to get all the approvals for flight landing in Kerala, he added.

Kuwait: Friday Forum Kuwait conducted its 12th inter-school Islamic Elocution Competition at Hotel Rajadhani Palace, Khaitan on 1st January 2020. 

The competition, which was held in the senior and junior categories had participation from 15 Indian Schools across Kuwait comprising of 43 students. In the senior category, Ayisha Wafiya of Indian Community School, Khaitan bagged the first prize and Efrem Joseph of Indian Community School, Amman won the second prize. 

In the junior category, Hima Jameela of Indian Community School, Khaitan bagged the first prize and Fadhel Kandapath of Fahaheel Al Wataniya Indian School won the second prize. Nawaal Yaseen Ebrahim of Indian Community School (SR), Salmiya and Rhruthunanda of Indian Learners Own Academy, Abbasiya won the consolation prizes in senior and junior categories respectively.

This year, the event was fully conducted by the ladies wing of Friday Forum. Dr. Thasneem Amir, Ibtisam Basheer, Toast Masters Ola Rasheed, Fatma Abduhedeid, Shazia Thabassum and Marium Rangat were the judges for the competition in senior and junior categories. The event started with the Qira’at by Saneera Riyas, followed by welcome speech by Dr. Sajna Mohammed. 

The prizes were distributed to winners by Shahina Mansoor, Femitha Faseeh, Dr.Thasneem Amir, Dr. Sajna Mohammed, Zeenath Yacoub, Safna Sayam and Saneera Riyas. The Souvenir for the program - “INSPERIA 2020”- was released during the event by the chief editor Farha Abdul Rahman. The program was compered by Thanveera Noushad and the program convenor Subeana Shabeer conveyed the vote of thanks.
