One more endosulfan victim dead

Kasaragod, Nov 8: Three days after a woman endosulfan victim committed suicide at Mullaria near here, one more endosulfan victim from the district died on Monday.

K. Narayani, 56, wife of the late Appukuttan, of Thadathil locality in Pullur village died at the Pariyaram Medical College hospital in Kannur, sources here said.

Narayani, who had been undergoing treatment for cancer, figured on the official list of endosulfan victims.

She is survived by three daughters.

K. Rajeevi, 62, who had been suffering from severe body ache due to undiagnosed diseases, attributed to spraying of the pesticide in Bellur village, committed suicide at Kalari locality near Mullaria, some 20 km from here on Friday.

Bengaluru, Apr 6: Popular Kannada comedy actor Prakash, popularly known as Bullet Prakash in the film industry, died due to multi-organ failure at a private hospital in the City on Monday.

He was 44.

He is survived by wife, one son and a daughter.

Mangaluru, May 5: Covid-19 pandemic has caused widespread economic devastation in the country. Many people have lost their livelihood. All sectors of the economy are in distress. Providing relief to the needy is the need of the hour.  Responding to this humanitarian crisis, Dakshina Kannada Automobile & Tyre Dealers Association has contributed a sum of Rs. One Lakh towards Covid-19 relief.

Association President Sri Kasturi Prabhakar Pai along with Vice President Sri Harsha Kumar Kedige, Secretary Sri K. Vilas Kumar and Treasurer Sri Maroor Shashidhar Pai handed over two cheques for Rs. 50,000/- each favouring ‘PM Cares’ – the Prime Minister’s Covid-l9 Relief Fund and ‘Chief Minister Relief Fund Covid-l9’ of Karnataka respectively to Smt. Sindhu B. Rupesh, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of D. K. District at her office in Mangalore on Monday, May 4, 2020.

Mandya, Jul 6: With a journalist from Srirangapatna testing positive for Covid-19, the Mandya District Journalists Association was sealed as a precautionary measure.

Association President K C Manjunath said on Monday that as the reporter has tested positive for Covid-19, it was voluntarily decided to seal down the premises for another month.
