The incident took place last weekend when the cast and crew of the TV serial Sanju Mattu Naanu were packing up after finishing shooting.

In a complaint Bhuvan stated that Pratham picked up a fight with him over a silly issue and the fight ended up with the latter biting former’s thigh.

Sources from the set say that both Bhuvan and Pratham didn’t exactly share a rosy relationship even when the serial went on floors. The duo have had a difference of opinion on many occasions, some which even made it to the headlines.

“We don’t exactly know what transpired between them, but the talk is that Pratham made a few lowly remarks about actress Sanjana after she refused to hold his hand for a scene. The disparaging comments he made were apparently about Sanjana and Bhuvan. Bhuvan made a few sharp observations and tried to put Pratham in his place and that’s when the fight took an ugly turn,” says a source from the set who adds that there were many folks who witnessed these proceedings.

After having punched Pratham a few times, Bhuvan then proceeded to get medical treatment at a neighbouring hospital.

Pratham, the winner of the Bigg Boss Kannada season 4, had hit the headlines of all electronic media for attempting suicide. Bhuvan was also a participant in the Bigg Boss and the two didn’t see eye-to-eye.

Kolkatta, Mar 19: A local leader of BJP has been arrested for organising a cow urine consumption event in Kolkata, claiming that it will protect people from coronavirus or cure those already infected, leading to a civic volunteer falling ill after drinking it.

The police said that 40-year-old Narayan Chatterjee, who had on Monday organised a cow worship programme at a cowshed and distributed cow urine, was arrested following a complaint filed by the victim.

He had vouched for its "miraculous" properties while offering gaumutra to others.

A civic volunteer, who was on duty near the cow shed also consumed gaumutra and fell sick on Tuesday, following which he lodged a complaint with the police against Chatterjee.

Reacting to the arrest, the state BJP leadership criticised the state government.

"Chatterjee had distributed cow urine, but he didn't fool people in consuming it. When he distributed it he clearly said it was cow urine, he didn't force anyone to drink it. It has not been proved whether it is harmful or not.

"So how can just police arrest him without any reason. This is completely undemocratic," state BJP General Secretary Sayantan Basu said.

West Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh has said there is no harm in drinking cow urine and he has no qualms in admitting he consumes it.

His party colleague and MP Locket Chatterjee, however, differed, terming it an "unscientific belief" that should be shunned.

The cow urine distribution as a cure for coronavirus had drawn sharp criticism from the doctors.

Shivamogga, Jul 24: The protest by Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) under the All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) entered its 14th day on Friday demanding personal protective equipment (PPE) kits and a salary of at least Rs 12,000 per month.

They have been protesting in different parts of Karnataka since July 10.

Staging a protest in front of the deputy commissioner's office, the ASHA workers complained of the government turning a deaf ear to their problems.

Clad in their signature pink saris, they raised slogans to demand appropriate salary for their work and the necessary equipment to protect them from the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.

They said that they worked tirelessly during the COVID-19-induced lockdown without any safety. The department only provided them with sub-standard equipment to combat the deadly virus. All they were asking for is a basic pay of Rs 12,000 against the current pay of Rs 6,000.

Prema, an ASHA said, "The authorities are praising our work, clapping for us and showering flowers on us but are not listening to our grievances."
