P M Aboobakar passes away over five months after road mishap

Padubidri, Aug 10: Around five months after he met with an accident, P M Aboobakar, a resident of Kanchinadka Padubidri, breathed his last at his residence. He was 75.

He was popularly known as "Abukaraaka" and was very familiar through his social and religious activities. He was known for voluntarily performing ghusl-e-Janazah of many people in his locality.

He had sustained severe injuries in an accident between a two-wheeler and a lorry around five months ago at Padubidri. He was bedridden since then. He was admitted to AJ Hospital for the treatment, from where he was discharged around a month back without any improvement.

Yestermorning he passed away. He had planned to go to Hajj with his family this year and had paid advance to an agent for processing the formalities.

A thousand of relatives, friends, well-wishers thronged his residence to visit the departed soul. Many associations at Padubidri and in other gulf countries including PANORAMA in the KSA expressed their deep commiseration over his sad demise.

Belagavi, Jan 16: Six Poachers were arrested in two different cases at Gollahalli forest range in Kittur section in the district on Thursday.

The arrested were identified as Bharmesh alias Bharmappa Hanumant Bhajantri, Mallesh Hanumant Bhajantri residents of Budanakatti in Bailahongal Taluk.

Another alleged accused Yuvraj Basappa Bhajantri managed to escape.

Tumakuru, Jun 20: An SSLC student of Siddaganga Mutt here was admitted to the isolation ward of the district hospital on Saturday after he showed Covid-19 symptoms.

Health officials said that the student, a native of the Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh, had returned to the Mutt via Raichur on June 15 for writing the SSLC examination scheduled to begin on June 25.

After he was admitted to the hospital the Health Department Officials kept three of his roommates under quarantine. Throat swab sample of the student has also been sent for testing.

Mangaluru, June 14: The management of Barakah International School and College has announced to waive off 33% of tuition fee in order to lessen the burden on parents who are undergoing financial crisis due to covid lockdown. 

This decision was taken after a series of virtual meetings with the Managing Director, Academic Director, Principal, Manager and PRO.

“While the school needs to continue to meet all the commitments and responsibilities towards the staff salaries, software, networking, etc, we fully understand that in the prevailing circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, job loss, reduction in salaries, general hardships of the self-employed businesses and the slowdown in the economy,” sated a release issued by the school.

“We would support our parent fraternity pro-actively and at the same time continue to meet the high-quality standards of our teaching- learning process and infrastructure so it has been decided that 1/3 of the tuition fee to be waived off for 2020-21,” the release said.
