Plan to turn 'War' into franchise, says Siddharth Anand

Mumbai, Oct 4: Director Siddharth Anand, who is happy with the positive response his Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff-starrer "War" has received, says there are plans to turn it into a franchise.

The action-thriller, which released on October 2, earned over Rs 53 crore on day one.

"We did had an idea of turning it into a franchise provided we get love of audience. It seems audience's demand is more than our desire. This is how it should be.

"We all will sit together soon and decide on it," Siddharth told reporters here at the success press conference of "War" on Friday.

Siddharth said his aim was to take the action genre a notch higher and give audience an edge-of-your-seat experience.

"I wanted to push the team and everyone and only then we were able to make a spectacle like this."

"Audience has loved the film and this is the proof of their blessings. It is a unique film, a lot of hard work has gone into it and the credit goes to the entire team," he added.

The Yash Raj Films project also features Vaani Kapoor.

New Delhi, Feb 25: The Delhi High Court on Tuesday gave time to Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to seek instructions on travel ban imposed on comedian Kunal Kamra.

Kamra approached the court against IndiGo which suspended him from flying with the airlines for a period of six months. Other airlines had also followed the suit in pursuance to this.

Justice Naveen Chawla said that the regulatory body should not have certified actions of airlines other than IndiGo to ban Kamra without conducting inquiry. The matter will now be heard on February 27.

Last month, IndiGo had barred the stand-up comedian for six months from using its services for allegedly portraying "unacceptable behaviour" onboard its flight.

The airline claimed that Kamra, while travelling on a Mumbai-Lucknow IndiGo flight, provoked a TV news anchor by asking questions over his news presentation style.

New Delhi, May 26: As the country celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr in the testing times of coronavirus this year, megastar Shah Rukh Khan's greetings reflected of blessings from the almighty to help the countrymen sail through the tough times.

The 54-year-old actor took to Twitter to extend Eid greetings to his fans.

"May the blessings of Allah see us through these times," he wrote in the tweet.

"In the end, it's Faith that keeps us going... Eid Mubarak to all. May He shower all with love, peace and prosperity always," Khan's tweet further read.

Eid-ul-Fitr marks the conclusion of the holy month of Ramzan, which is a month of fasting and prayer for the Muslim community.

This year, Eid is being celebrated amid a nationwide lockdown imposed as a precautionary measure to contain the spread of COVID-19.

Ernakulam, Feb 29: A court here on Friday issued a bailable arrest warrant against Malayalam actor Kunchacko Boban for failing to appear before it for witness examination in an assault case filed by an actress.

Ernakulam Additional Sessions Judge Honey M Varghese issued the arrest warrant.

As per the court's direction, Boban can take bail from police station and appear before court on March 4.
