Prashant Singh Files Fraud Complaint Against Veena Malik

January 2, 2014

Prashant_SinghVeena Malik and controversies just never seem to die down and this time around its all about her relationship with her so called live-in boyfriend Prashant Singh, according to her is GAY.

Pakistani Actress Veena Malik, who shot to fame when she entered Bigg Boss Season 4, was recently in the news as she tied the nuptial knot with a Pakistani Businessman Asad Bashir Khan Khattak on December 25, 2013 in Dubai.

Veena Malik tied the knot at the Emirates court on Christmas day. “It happened very quickly. Our parents were talking from a few months and they wanted us to meet and see if we are compatible. My mother came to Dubai first and met Asad, then my father came to meet him,” Malik revealed to media.

Days after her wedding, everyone thought Veena had settled down with husband Asad Khan, a man called Prashant Singh has turned up and claims to have had a live-in relationship with Veena. He has even filed a police complaint under Section 507 (Criminal Intimidation) of fraud against Veena and said that she has threatened to accuse him of rape and molestation if he revealed their relationship to the media. Veena allegedly even called up his mother and threatened her.

Veena on the other hand has a completely different story to tell. She claims Prashant is simply a staff member who enjoys taking her pictures. When asked about his accusations, Veena said, “I always treated him like a brother. He is one among my very good gay friends.” Now this could be a story that our controversial queen could have cooked up so that she comes out clean infront of her husband Asad. If one remembers she has been lined with Asmit Patel and it was even speculated that both were planning to get married.

What has been told to us is that, Veena allegedly ran away with money after cheating Prashant in Mumbai and hurriedly got married to singer, model and businessman Asad Bashir Khattak in Dubai. Due to her mother’s poor health, the wedding was rushed and soon after the newlyweds threw a private reception.

As per Prashant, the actress cheated him by staying in a live-in relationship for two long years and suddenly getting married to a Dubai-based businessman without even informing him. Prashant claims he had made Veena a partner in his company, Huge H Digital, but was shocked after the wedding news. According to him, Veena committed fraud and took away money they both earned through the entertainment company.

In an interview to Geo News she says; “Prashant is an ex-employee of mine, he used to work for me. Now many such rumours will surface now, people will talk about my past, but by God’s grace we both are happy. At the moment I am extremely happy with my in-laws, my husband is my life, my partner. I don’t want to talk about any rumours.”

On the other hand, heartbroken Prashant Singh finds solace on Twitter and other social networking sites trying to convince everyone that what he is saying is the truth.

At the end of all this drama all we can tell Prashant Singh is to let go and move on because as far as Veena Malik is concerned he could just be one out the many.

Mumbai, Aug 2: Oscar-winning director Alfonso Cuaron has come aboard as an executive producer on filmmaker Chaitanya Tamhane's movie The Disciple. The Marathi feature is set to represent India at the 77th edition of the Venice Film Festival. It will be screened in the Competition section of the prestigious film gala.

The movie, which is Tamhane's follow-up to his National Award-winning feature Court, has also been selected for 2020 Toronto International Film Festival's official line-up.

"I met Chaitanya through a mentorship program where I had the opportunity to watch his very superb debut film, Court  I was immediately impressed by his sense of cinema and fearless confidence to tell stories.

"He was part of most of Roma's process and I jumped to the opportunity to be part of the process of his second film The Disciple. I believe Chaitanya is one of the most important new voices of contemporary cinema," Cuaron said in a statement.

Tamhane said he is honoured to have Cuaron aboard the film.

"It’s a bit surreal and an incredible honour for me to have one of the most recognised and acclaimed filmmakers in the world be part of 'The Disciple'. In some ways, this validation from Alfonso Cuaron is even more," he added.

The Disciple, a 127-minute long feature, stars Aditya Modak, Arun Dravid, Sumitra Bhave, and Kiran Yadnyopavit. It has been produced by “Sir” actor Vivek Gomber through his Zoo Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.

The Disciple marks Tamhane’s return to Venice after he won the Best Film - Orizzonti and Lion of the Future award for Court in 2014.

Court, a poignant commentary on India's judicial system, also won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in 2015 and was India's official entry for the Best Foreign Film at the 2016 Oscars.

Endeavor Content will sell North American rights and New Europe Film Sales boards the film as an international sales agent.

Mumbai, Jun 16: In the wake of Sushant Singh Rajput's death, veteran actor Deepti Naval has opened up about her struggle with depression and suicidal thoughts in the early 90s.

Naval shared a poem that she wrote during her struggle with depression on her Facebook page after paying tributes to Rajput, who was found hanging in his Bandra apartment on Sunday at the age of 34.

According to a police official, Mumbai Police found out during the probe that the actor was under medication for depression

"Dark days these... So much has been happening - mind has come to a point of stillness... Or rather numbness. Today I feel like sharing a poem I wrote back in the years when I was fighting depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts - Yes, fighting... and like how," Naval wrote.

The 68-year-old actor made her debut with Shyam Benegal's 1978 "Junoon" and went on to feature in films like "Chashme Buddoor", "Ankahee", "Mirch Masala", Saath Saath among others in the 80s.

Naval's poem, titled "Black Wind", begins by describing how anxiety engulfs a person.

"Anxiety grips me with both hands, spiked claws dig deep into my soul I gasp for breath and stagger around sharp corners of my single bed.."

In the poem, Naval talks about fighting suicidal thoughts and depression, describing it as a "ghoulish lust" she won't succumb to.

"The telephone rings... no, it stops...God damn! Why don't anyone speak? A voice, Just a human voice In this shameless, pitiless Abyss of the night - gloom deepens into darkness, turns purple I feel dark inside."

The actor ends by writing that she will survive the night, its "deathly design" and fight.

"The world's a snake pit, so let it be! I dare the devil to get the better of me! Deepti Naval, Night of July 28, 1991."

In an interview with PTI last year, Naval had mentioned how acting assignments started to thin in the late 90s and as a "serious actor" it was "devastating" to be ignored.
