Qatar: Hundreds donate blood at KMCA camp

Doha: Karnataka Muslim Cultural Association (KMCA) a registered body under Indian Cultural Center (ICC) hosted a blood donation camp recently at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) blood donors unit, here.

The response by the donors and the well-wishers turned to be huge numbers which started from 8 mornings and ended up at 12 p.m. Around 350 people irrespective of caste and religion joined the noble cause which was a unique show organized by KMCA.

Around 80 members were successful in donating the blood in today’s blood donation drive after the routine checkups.

Dr. Mukthar Ahmed hailing from Karnataka addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance and benefits of donating the blood. President of the forum Mr. Niyaz Ahmed welcomed the gathering. Mr. Saeed Assadi compered while Mr. Saquib Raza Khan proposed vote of thanks.

M. Iqbal Manna, head of Special Needs of KMCA was the event co-ordinator.

Ravi Shetty, President of Tulu Koota Qatar, Mr. Prakash Chandra Ajila,, President, Bunts Qatar, Mr. Abdul Majeed, President, South Canara Muslim Welfare Association, Mr. Abdulla Mono, President, Hidaya Center, Mr. Ashmath Ali, President, KTWA, Mrs. Milan Arun, former ICBF official, Mr. Syed Abdul Hye, Senior Resident of Qatar, Mr. Rehman T, former KMCA President, Mr. Habibul Nabi, Mr. Arun Kumar, Mr. Dinesh Chandra Shetty, Mr. Sheethara Shetty, Mr. Sathish Tonse and several prominent Indian community members and other dignitaries attended this noble cause.

The KMCA Managing Committee also extending its thanks and appreciation to Mr. Niyaz Ahmed from HBK Contracting company and the President of KMCA and Mr. Salim U, The Managing Director of Team Engineering Company for arranging their employees to join and donate blood for the noble cause.

Riyadh: On the occasion of 71st Republic Day of India, Karavali Welfare Association Riyadh (KWAR) conducted BLOOD DONATION CAMPAIGN on the 17th Jan 2020 at KING SAUD Universities King Khalid University Hospital, Riyadh. 

This is one of KWARs Prestigious Humanitarian EVENT every year, as we are indebted to serve the society for a Great Cause.

The campaign began at 08:30 am with a theme of Republic Day Celebrations and went on till 3:30 pm. Irrespective of Friday being a weekend and holiday people came in good numbers to donate Blood. The Hospital Staff, The Doctors and the Blood Bank Technicians and others at King Khalid University Hospital were more than happy to serve all those who have participated in this campaign.

KWAR Thanks all the Hospital Staff especially Mr. Salman Baqsh for his introduction of KWAR to Blood Bank and all the arrangements for this campaign, without his support this could not been done. Dr. Zafar Mahmoud for his wonderful support during the campaign and Mr. Abdullah Al Saman for his outstanding Hospitality throughout the campaign. KWAR also thanks all the donors who came all the way voluntarily for this Great Humanitarian Cause. As a token of gesture KWAR awarded Certificate of Appreciation to all the participants.

And KWAR would like to thank specially Mr. Nasir, Representative of Blood Helpline Karnataka, who encouraged many donors and made them to actively participate and donate blood for this noble cause.

KWAR’s core activities was on display on the screen, with most of the Committee members were present at the venue to serve the donors. KWAR thanks all the members, the Executive committee and all those who took their valuable time to organize this event successfully and thank all our well-wishers who supported us for the BLOOD DONATION CAMPAIGN. We in KWAR wish every Donor and the participants a healthy life ahead, and we need everyone's active participation in all our Future events.

Manama: Kannada Sangha Bahrain President Mr. Pradeep Shetty and Vice President of Bahrain's prestigious KHK HEROES Foundation Mohammed Mansoor on Monday, May 11, met The Second Secretary (Consular & CW) of the Embassy of India, Bahrain Mr. P. K. Chowdhury in the Indian Embassy. 

The situation, problems and relief of Indians and Kannadigas residing in Bahrain during the COVID 19 Pandemic was discussed in detail. The distribution of food (dry ration) kits, as well as those seeking repatriation, was also discussed in the meeting.

When asked about the repatriation of distressed Kannadigas, the Second Secretary said that though the number of Kannadigas who wish to return home is not much compared to the rest of the states, still Embassy is compiling all the information and will do the needful soon. 

Mr. Shetty and Mr. Mansoor told the Second Secretary that those who are in problem can contact them and they are ready to do their best.

Dammam: President of Indian Social Forum, Eastern Province Mr.Wasim Rabbani urged immediate intervention of Indian government to help Non Residential Indians who are in trouble due to corona pandemic in Saudi Arabia.

He said in a press rease that expatriate Indians are in concern  as number of corona infected people and  deaths are increasing in danger level.

Hea said, "the Saudi health minister's statement a few days ago indicates that the situation in Saudi needs to be taken more seriously with precautionary methods. There are concerns among expatriates because the number of people infected with the coronavirus and the number of deaths reported in various provinces are increasing at an alarming rate."

"Saudi Government and Health Ministry are taking excellent precautionary measures, however, in the coming days expect to see the number of cases to increase in Saudi Arabia. The Indian government needs to take diplomatic and immediate intervention to ensure the treatment of Indian expatriates considering the number of effected people increasing", He said.

He also urged that the Embassy and the Government of India should ensure qaurantiane faculty for Indian expatriates and arrange special low cost flights to bring back expatriates who would like to return home country.

" Government of India and Indian embassy need to intervene immediately to ensure that the quarantine system is in place for Indian expatriates as the facilities in the rooms where the residents are staying together are very limited. There should also be a mechanism to organize low-cost flight services for expatriates who are ready to go home. The government system should also be able to accommodate the expatriates in special quarantine areas in hometown as soon they arrive in India", he urged.
