Kolar, May 7: Congress supremo Rahul Gandhi, who is campaigning for his party in Karnataka for May 12 polls on Monday target Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP’s chief ministerial candidate B S Yeddyurappa over alleged corruption, lies and false promises.
Addressing a party rally at Malur, here Rahul challenged Modi to disclose how many days Yeddyurappa was in jail and how much money he looted. "Is Modi's stand of fielding corrupt leaders and campaigning for them justified?" he questioned.
"Those who were jailed on the charge of corruption sit next to Prime Minister. Modi has no moral right to speak about corruption," he charged.
"Modi is keeping mum though prices of LPG gas and petroleum products are skyrocketing. He has not waived off farm loan, but has helped industrialists like Nirav Modi," he charged.
"He has privatised government schools in Gujarat. He has failed to keep up his promise. He doesn't act though his cabinet colleague speaks of changing the Constitution. He has failed to curb atrocities against Dalits," Rahul charged.
He also criticized Modi for resorting to personal attacks and misleading people with lies and false promises.
General Secretary of AICC in charge of Karnataka K C Venugopal, MP K H Muniyappa and Minister K R Ramesh Kumar were present.
MLA candidates in the district took part in Rahul Gandhi's roadshow taken out by him. He got onto a bullock cart and held models of LGP gas cylinders as a mark of protest.
