Kathronka KiladiMumbai, May 26: Model-actor Rajneesh Duggal won the fifth season of stunt-based reality show "Khatron Ke Khiladi Season Five" at the finale Sunday. He took home prize money of Rs.25 lakh and a Mahindra Scorpio SUV.

The actor, who feared lizards and snakes the most, left behind all the other contestants in the reality show hosted by filmmaker Rohit Shetty, and was rewarded a trophy by Bollywood star Ajay Devgn in the finale episode.

"When our journey was about to begin, all the contestants were told to fill a form where they had to pen down their fears in a column. I was scared of lizards and snakes the most. The show put me against crocodiles and snakes. The show helped me overcome my fear of crocodiles and snakes," Rajneesh said.

The first episode of "Khatron Ke Khiladi Season Five" went on air March 22 on Colors.

Post 'Khatron...', Rajneesh eyes 'quality work'

Rajneesh Duggal, who won the fifth season of stunt-based reality show "Khatron Ke Khiladi - Darr Ka Blockbuster", eyes "quality work" and says medium doesn't not matter.

"I want to go for quality work. The medium does not matter. Be it a film, TV show or a live stage performance, it has to be projected right and should have a quality that is worth sharing with the masses," Rajneesh told IANS in a telephonic interview.

The Model-turned actor won prize money of Rs.25 lakh and also a Mahindra SUV on "Khatron Ke Khiladi".

If the actor ever gets an opportunity, he would like to work with filmmaker Rohit Shetty, who hosted "Khatron Ke Khiladi".

"I have spent a great amount of time with my host Rohit Shetty and I have learnt a lot from him during the show. He is very disciplined. I would love to work with him," said Rajneesh who seen in the movie "1920" and "Samrat & Co".

The reality show went air on Colors March 22 and it helped the actor overcome his fear of lizards and snakes.

Talking about competitors, the actor said competition was tough.

"TV actors Salman Yusuff Khan, Nikitin Dheer and Gurmeet Choudhary were strong competitors, according to me."

And among girls, he named celebrities Teejay Sidhu and Debina Bonnerjee.

The actor shared a blissful company with Salman and Niketan, since the rest of the contestants were mostly couples.

"I, Salman and Niketan used to sit at the back seats of the bus, while travelling to the location. Other contestants used to call us 'back seat boys'. Since, most of the participants were couples, the three of us shared a good bond," said the actor.

When asked, if he ever wants to be a part of a reality show like "Bigg Boss", he said: "I cannot share my personal space on cameras 24/7, that too for 80-90 days. I am very much mentally stable, but I do not want to go for 'Bigg Boss'."

Currently, the actor is working on an upcoming film directed by Rajiv S. Ruia.

Jan 8: Bollywood star Deepika Padukone on Tuesday visited the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) to express solidarity with the students who were attacked by a mob, but she did not address the crowd.

The actor reached the university campus at around 7.40 pm and attended a public meeting, called by JNU Teacher's Association and JNUSU in response to Sunday's attack on students and teachers by a masked mob armed with sticks and rods.

Deepika stood as former JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar was raising azaadi slogans and left by the time current president Aishe Ghosh started speaking.

The actor's decision to not address the crowd prompted Ghosh to comment, "when you are in a position, you should speak up".

"There are many people in Bollywood who do not put forth their views when they are not be aired. They are considered role models. I appeal to them: Make inspiring films after something has happened but when you are in that position, also talk about the story that is currently happening," she said.

Later, Ghosh said that Deepika expressed solidarity with the JNU students.

Deepika is in the capital to promote her upcoming release, Meghna Gulzar-directed "Chhapaak".

On Monday, the 34-year-old actor told a news channel that she feels proud that people have come out and raised their voice without fear, in reference to the protests against the amended Citizenship Act, the National Register of Citizens and violence in JNU.

"I feel proud to see that we aren't scared to express ourselves... I think the fact that we are thinking about the country and its future.... Whatever may be our point of view, it's nice to see," Deepika told NDTV India.

"I feel proud about it that people are coming out -- be it on the streets or wherever they are -- they are raising their voice and expressing themselves as it is important. If we want to see a change in life and society, it is important that a point of view be put forward," she added.

New Delhi, April 4: Extending a helping hand to curb the spread of coronavirus, superstar Shah Rukh Khan and wife Gauri Khan have offered their personal office space in Mumbai for quarantine purpose for children, elderly and women.

The information was tweeted by the official Twitter handle of BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) on Saturday that thanked the couple for the gesture.

"Stronger together. We thank Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan for offering their 4-storey personal office space to help expand our quarantine capacity equipped with essentials for quarantined children, women and elderly, Indeed a thoughtful and timely gesture!" the tweet read.

Earlier the 54-year-old superstar and his group companies had pledged to donate to a number of relief funds, including the Prime Minister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM-CARES) fund and the Maharashtra Chief Minister's Relief Fund to combat the coronavirus.

The 'Devdas' actor had taken to Twitter on Thursday and shared that his companies -- Kolkata Knight Riders, Red Chillies Entertainment, Meer Foundation, and Red Chillies VFX -- are taking several initiatives to support the relief efforts.

The Padma Shri awardee also announced that his initial efforts will be focused on three cities -- Mumbai, Kolkata and New Delhi, "with the realisation that this is a start and we stand ready to contribute in whichever way possible going forward".

Meanwhile, India's tally of coronavirus positive cases rose to 2,902, said the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Saturday.

Out of 2,902 cases, 2,650 are active cases and 184 have been cured or discharged or have migrated. The total number of deaths reported due to the disease rose to 68 on Saturday.

Jan 2: A young filmmaker was allegedly assaulted by an acquaintance during an argument over CAA-NRC in neighbouring Salt Lake City, police said on Wednesday.

The police have arrested the accused following a complaint by the filmmaker.

According to a senior police officer, the argument over the contentious Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and the proposed National Register of Citizens (NRC) began following a social media post by the filmmaker.

The accused allegedly went to the house of the filmmaker on Monday night and picked up an argument, which led to a scuffle.

"During the scuffle, the accused attacked the filmmaker with a knife," the senior police officer said, adding that the accused has been booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
