Ready for any investigation; let the truth prevail: Mohan Alva

alva mohanMoodbidri, Jul 29: Mohan Alvan, chairman of The Alva’s Education Foundation, has said that his institution has a transparent administration and is ready for investigation by any agency into the death of Class 10 student Kavya.

He said that he was pained over the media reports about the alleged suicide of Kavya by which he and the foundation were shown in bad light.

In a statement, Mr. Alva said that a proper investigation by the police will bring out the truth. The parents of Kavya have called it a murder and not suicide.

The foundation has been providing education to scores of students in its institutions in a transparent manner and there has not been a single instance of murder so far.

The recent reports have also caused anxiety among 26,000 students and their parents who have placed great belief in the foundation.

If they had paid enough bribe, nothing would have happened.

Bengaluru, Apr 11: Seven more people have tested positive for coronavirus taking the tally to 214 in the state.

"Coronavirus cases rise to 214 in Karnataka, with seven more people testing positive between 5 PM Friday and 12 PM Saturday," said the Karnataka health department.

According to the health department, all these seven people have a history of contact with COVID-19 patients. Five of them are workers of a pharmaceutical company in Mysuru.

"Out of the total cases in the state, six people have died while 37 others were cured or discharged," added the state health department.

Mangaluru, Mar 27: Nine throat swab samples that were sent for testing of the coronavirus, have been declared as negative while samples of four more persons are currently being tested, official sources said on Friday.

Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B. Rupesh said that 2,902 people are under home quarantine in the district as of today while three were admitted to hospitals for observation.

Around 38,051 people have been inspected, so far, here in this district.

Bengaluru, Jun 30: The judicial, non-judicial and administrative functions of the Karnataka High Court has been suspended for Tuesday, for sanitisation of the entire court complex due to "unavoidable circumstances".

The High Court in a notice informed about the decision on Monday.

"It is hereby notified to the litigant public/learned advocates/party-in-person/officers and staff of the High Court of Karnataka, Principal Bench, Bengaluru that, the judicial/non-judicial/administrative functions of the High Court is hereby suspended for one day -- on June 30, 2020, for sanitisation of entire High Court complex, due to unavoidable circumstances," the notice read.
