Hubballi, Oct 28: Former Karnataka chief minister H D Kumaraswamy on Monday said that he is ready to face alleged involvement in Phone Tapping or multi-crore IMA fraud and will not beg for protection.
"I am not afraid of facing probe in connection with Phone tapping that has allegedly taken place during my tenure as Chief Minister or multi-crore IMA fraud that had taken place. I will also not beg with anybody to protect me since I am sure that I have not involved in any scam or fraud," he added.
Speaking with media, Mr Kumaraswamy clarified that he had made sufficient allocation in the Budget for loan waiver scheme. But different statements by Ministers in the present BJP government headed by Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa is creating confusion in the minds of those affected since they expected the state government to come to their rescue. "If I had not made provision in the Budget for loan waiver the number of suicides by farmers would have been more", he added.
