Mangaluru, Oct 24: The district administration has sounded a red alert in Dakshina Kannada in the wake of continuous rains lashing the state unabated since October 18.
Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh on Thursday sounded a red alert in the district after the Meteorological Department predicted heavy rain in the three coastal districts of Karnataka for the three days.
She, however, said no casualty was reported, about 42 houses were either damaged or fully collapsed.
