Riyadh: GMJ celebrates hosts Eid Milan

Riyadh, Oct 23: The Riyadh unit of Gangolli Muslim Jamaat organized its annual Eid milan ‘Eid-ul-Adha  Event 2014’ at Al Azizia  Resort, Riyadh on October 4 and arrangements were also made for animal sacrifice (qurbani) in the morning.

The programme began with a recitation of verses from Holy Quran by Mohammed Huzaif Moulana and Islamic Song From Brother Nasrullah Shaikh    

Soon after the Qirath, Br. Mohammed Sayeed Mali welcomed all the guests and brother Abdussalaam Moulana ( Treasurer)  read the accounts and yearly report and activities

GMJ Riyadh unit President Kolkar Fazlu Rahman addressed the gathering. He enlightened about benefits of being a member of an association and the importance of charity, donation and helping hand for needy people. Munaf MH was special guest.

GMJ executive members kept the crowd active throughout the programme. Jam packed audience around 200 at the auditorium. Separate arrangement for ladies side and they enjoyed the Qirath, Naath and games competition conducted for the children’s and Ladies

All the expenses of the event was shared by Jamaath Well wishers.

Special Cricket tournament was arranged, all the gentlemen were crazy about the match and the prizes sponsored by well - wishers for various  games for Gents, ladies / children.

The outdoor games for men's (Tug-of-War and 30 yards cricket tournament ) and for children (Running Race, Frog Race, Sack Race, Musical Chair) and Ladies, Hit the wicket/Ring the win / pot breaking/  were conducted. All the kids, ladies and gentlemen participated with great enthusiasm. All the games were enjoyed beyond the limit by the participants.

Delicious biryani / soft drinks was provided to all the members gathered.  Mohammed Jaffer Kolkar, Najeeb MH, Jaffer Shaikh, Dastagir Shahee Mohallah, Nasrullah Shaikh, Bedre Ibrahim, Toufeeque, Riyaz Masni, Mustaq shaikh, Shaheed Kolkar, Salaam  put in a lot of effort to make this event successful   

Sayeed Mali thanked all the Sponsors, Donors, Volunteers, Attendees and Executive Committee Members for extending their support for this noble cause and making this event a grand success

Dammam: Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka chapter organized a "Live along with COVID-19" webinar on 29 May 2020 in association with HealthCare Polyclinic, Dammam.

The webinar at Zoom App. featured over 150+ resident Kannadigas from Saudi Arabia's eastern and neighboring provinces.

Dr. Shailendranath made a presentation on the program and gave useful information. Indian Social Forum Dammam, Karnataka Chapter President Sharif Joktake delivered the keynote address. General Secretary Irshad Jokatte stalled the program.

Dr Soofi Anwar, Director Academics of University of Stirling RAK, UAE Campus, has achieved the prestigious professional recognition of Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) UK. He has achieved this milestone through the Stirling Framework for Evidencing Learning and Teaching Enhancement (SFELTE), the Continuing Professional Development Framework (CPD) for learning and teaching at University of Stirling, Scotland, UK. 

He was recognized for this achievement on recently concluded virtual Learning & Teaching Conference-2020 organized by University of Stirling Campus in UK.  He has secured his Ph.D. in Management from University of Azteca, Mexico.

Dr. Soofi Anwar has over 20 years of experience in teaching and academic leadership at higher education level and has worked in leading universities in UAE, Bahrain and India. He was conferred the prestigious Middle East Education Leadership Award, as the Best Professor in Management-2018 in recognition of his academic excellence, exemplary leadership in higher education. Prior to his current role, he has worked on leadership position in Birla Institute of Technology Offshore Campus RAK.

He has completed his MBA from Dept. of Business Administration, Mangalore University in 1999 and his B. Com degree from Canara College Mangaluru.

He has published numerous research papers in management and in the area of teaching and learning in higher education in reputed academic journals and international conferences proceedings. He is a member of editorial board of two leading management journals and engaged in reviewing faculty research publications in the area of management and marketing. 

He is a son of Haji Abdul Khadar Kodijal and Mrs. Mariyamma from Konaje, Mangaluru.

Kuwait: Friday Forum Kuwait conducted its 12th inter-school Islamic Elocution Competition at Hotel Rajadhani Palace, Khaitan on 1st January 2020. 

The competition, which was held in the senior and junior categories had participation from 15 Indian Schools across Kuwait comprising of 43 students. In the senior category, Ayisha Wafiya of Indian Community School, Khaitan bagged the first prize and Efrem Joseph of Indian Community School, Amman won the second prize. 

In the junior category, Hima Jameela of Indian Community School, Khaitan bagged the first prize and Fadhel Kandapath of Fahaheel Al Wataniya Indian School won the second prize. Nawaal Yaseen Ebrahim of Indian Community School (SR), Salmiya and Rhruthunanda of Indian Learners Own Academy, Abbasiya won the consolation prizes in senior and junior categories respectively.

This year, the event was fully conducted by the ladies wing of Friday Forum. Dr. Thasneem Amir, Ibtisam Basheer, Toast Masters Ola Rasheed, Fatma Abduhedeid, Shazia Thabassum and Marium Rangat were the judges for the competition in senior and junior categories. The event started with the Qira’at by Saneera Riyas, followed by welcome speech by Dr. Sajna Mohammed. 

The prizes were distributed to winners by Shahina Mansoor, Femitha Faseeh, Dr.Thasneem Amir, Dr. Sajna Mohammed, Zeenath Yacoub, Safna Sayam and Saneera Riyas. The Souvenir for the program - “INSPERIA 2020”- was released during the event by the chief editor Farha Abdul Rahman. The program was compered by Thanveera Noushad and the program convenor Subeana Shabeer conveyed the vote of thanks.
