Jaipur, Jun 25: Today marks a new Dawn in Indian motoring - quite literally! British luxury marquee, Rolls-Royce has launched the Dawn convertible in the country today, with prices starting at Rs 6.25 Crore (ex-showroom). Check out the image gallery here!

The spiritual successor to the Silver Dawn that debuted in 1953, the modern day Rolls-Royce is more than just a Wraith without a roof. The automaker hasn't bothered with sharing body panels - 80 per cent of the Dawn features all-new bodywork. In Rolls' own words, it is the "sexiest Rolls-Royce ever built". It will turn heads and make people swoon, that's a given. The Dawn oozes class and panache, without looking overtly in your face or brash. Now that's a trait I believe only the British can pull off.

The interiors are smothered in high-quality materials including wood, leather and knurled aluminium. It can be customised in a million ways, but, what I particularly admire, is the Dawn's obsession with silence. Most convertibles have a noisy cabin, even when the roof is in place. That's not the case with the Rolls-Royce. The six-layered fabric roof makes it the world's quietest convertible. The roof vanishes into the trunk in a mere 22 seconds, and, the mechanism that retracts the roof is so quiet, that the automaker calls it a 'silent ballet'. Rolls-Royce claims that the Dawn is as silent as it's sibling - the Wraith. That's a claim we're willing to believe with our eyes closed. Before we forget, the lowest fan speed is called 'Soft' and not 'Low'. Fanatical attention to detail right there!

Powering this barrage of British exotica is a 6.6-litre V12 motor. In case that wasn't enough, it gets not one, but two turbochargers. The result is a mind-numbing 571PS of go power and 780Nm of twist. Power is channelled through a ZF-sourced 8-speed transmission that is aided by satellites. In case you're wondering how that works, here's a crash course. The GPS tells the transmission what roads lie ahead, based on which the gearbox selects the appropriate gear. How cool is that?

All said and done, Rolls-Royces have always been garage queens for the ultra-rich and this one isn't a whole lot different. The fact that it can shed its top and charge like her Majesty's army is complimentary.

New Delhi, Jan 19: Messaging service WhatsApp which on Sunday faced issues in transmitting multimedia content including pictures and images, prompting social media users to share hilarious memes and messages, resumed regular services after over two hours.

#WhatsAppDown was the trending hashtag on Twitter for most part of Sunday afternoon in India along with several other countries such as Brazil, Europe and also parts of Middle-East including UAE, reported downdetector.in, a realtime problem and outage monitoring website.

Users of the popular messaging app were unable to send media files, stickers and GIFs.

Most users immediately went to Twitter to find out about the problem and check if others were facing the same issue.

Numerous tweets and memes took over the internet as soon as the news broke about the WhatsApp tech issue. After around two hours of technical glitch, the app resumed full service.

Even after full recovery of media transfer, people globally still continued checking the status of the messaging app.

WhatsApp has been one of the prime messaging apps since May 2009 and has recently collaborated with Facebook.

New Delhi, Aug 2: The National Commission for Women (NCW) has issued notice to some Bollywood celebrities named in a complaint against the promoter of a company for allegedly blackmailing and sexually assaulting a number of girls on the pretext of giving them a career in modelling.

Taking cognizance of the complaint filed by social activist Yogita Bhayana of People Against Rape in India (PARI), the NCW scheduled a virtual hearing presided by its chairperson on August 6.

The complaint against Sunny Verma, promoter of a company named IMG Ventures with its headquarter in Chandigarh, alleged that he has been blackmailing and sexually assaulting a number of girls on the pretext of giving them career in modelling.

PARI's Yogita Bhayana wrote a complaint letter to NCW chairperson Rekha Sharma.

"Through his company, he (Sunny Verma) invites the girls on the pretext of organising a Miss Asia contest with a claim that the contest will launch them as models. To make it look genuine, his company has also been taking an entry fee of Rs 2,950. Once the girls apply, they are alluded by the female accomplices of Sunny Verma to submit their nude pictures in order to get the better ranking in the contest," the complaint letter said on July 31.

It alleged that Verma, after receiving the pictures and sometimes even before, used to get in touch with the girls and ask for completely nude pictures and videos.

The complaint letter said that Verma also used to allude as well as threaten the girls to submit to his sexual desires if they were interested in modelling as a career or wish to win the contest.

"Once he established a physical relationship with the girls, he used to blackmail them for regular sexual favours. Many girls from across the country have suffered a sexual and mental assault from Sunny and his accomplices," said the complaint citing several letters, texts and audio clips from several girls as proof of this modus operandi of Sunny Verma and his company.

The complaint also said that Sunny Verma has been previously also arrested on charges of sexual assault.

"We would demand that NCW should investigate the case to its depth and get the guilty punished so that any other person should not dare to exploit these kinds of innocent girls on any pretext. It will be a message to people like Sunny Verma and all associated Bollywood stars. Looking forward to strict action from NCW against sexual offenders like Sunny Verma & others," the complaint said.
