Bengaluru, Feb 10: Smoke entered wards at Sagar Hospital following a short circuit in the UPS room, said the fire department here on Sunday.

"Smoke entered wards at Sagar Hospital in Bengaluru, following a short circuit in the UPS room at the hospital today. Patients have been shifted from the site of the incident, as a precaution," the fire department in Bengaluru said.

"No fire incident reported and the situation is under control now," the fire department said.

Udupi, Jun 27: The Indian Meteorological Department and the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre have sounded Orange alert in coastal Karnataka as there is all possibility of heavy rain lashing the region for the next three days from Saturday.

According to the forecast, the district may get 100 mm to 115 mm rainfall. The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) has given instructions on taking precautions in the district.

All officers of district and taluk-levels have been told to compulsorily remain in the central position. The citizens should take care not to venture into rivers or the sea. Mangaluru, Jul 5: A veteran politician and former union minister has repeatedly tested positive for COVID-19 in the Dakshina Kannada.

The former minister, who resides in Bantwal taluk, is said to be asymptomatic.

His wife and children have also tested positive for the coronavirus.

Meanwhile, one of the kin of the former minister said that he is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Mangaluru. "He is asymptomatic and doing well," he said.
