Mysuru, Sept 3: Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister Govinda Karajola today said that the State government requires Rs 8000 Crore to rebuild roads, bridges and public buildings which was damaged due to floods in 22 Districts last month.
Speaking to newsmen after a meeting with officials here on Tuesday, he said the government had already released Rs 500 Crores and works are at various stages of completion.
He said that even the crop loss or damage survey has already begun and the State government has sought to increase the compensation for crop loss. This will be discussed with Prime Minister during his visit to the State next week.
