SAB Warriors lifts ‘JF Idealink winter cup-2014’ for third consecutive year

Al-Khobar, Feb 20: The 3-weeks long Cricket Tournament ‘JF Idealink Winter Cup 2014’ organized by the charitable organization ‘Jam’iyyatul Falah’ was concluded with a fabulous closing ceremony and a spectacular grand finale on February 14, 2014 at SABSA Cricket Ground in Al-Khobar.

The 10 Over Knockout Cricket Tournament was commenced on 31st of January 2014. The opening match between Expertise and Ball Busters was inaugurated by Imran Karkala, the chairman of the tournament. The annual event of Sports was well organized by the JF’s Sports Organizing Committee and all the 24 Cricket Teams participated in the tournament from Eastern Province had displayed a true sportsman spirit during the tournament and played their matches with full of interest and excitement.

In the finals, SAB Warriors won the ‘JF Idealink Winter Cup 2014’ for the 3rd consecutive year by defeating Khuseim by 8 wickets. Salman, the captain of SAB Warriors and also the Brand Ambassador of ‘JF Idealink Winter Cup 2014’ for was very happy for winning the HAT-TRICK cup and praised his boys for exhibiting wonderful cricket throughout the tournament.

Khushiam won the toss and elected to bat first and managed the total of 94/7 in allotted 10 over. In reply, SAB reached the target of 95 with the loss of two wickets. The brilliant bowling and fielding performance was displayed by SAB players. SAB Captain Salman judged man of the match in final for his brilliant bowling and batting performance.

Prior to this mega final, 1st Semi Finals was played between SAB Warriors and AMACO, batted first SAB made 90/3 and in reply AMACO were able to score 73/8 in allotted 10 over. SAB Warriors won by 17 runs.

2nd Semi Finals was played between Khusaim and SASP, batted first Khushaim scored114/6.  In reply SASP were 113/10 in the last ball of the match. It was a nail-biting finish and Khushaim won by one run.

Immediately after the Finals, the post-match presentation and closing ceremony was hosted by Javed Sayed and supported by Mansour Ali Ahmed, President of JF Dammam Unit. The program commenced with Qirath by Mohammad Ishaq. Mansour Ali Ahmed addressed the audience with his welcome speech and thanked the thrilled-packed audience for their kind presence. President appreciated all the 24 cricket teams for their participation and lauded their great sportsmanship throughout the tournament and declared all the 24 cricket teams as a Winner for playing in the tournament, which contributes all the collections for the Noble Cause.

The Chief Guest and Official Main Sponsor Hammad Al-Dossary (Technical Manager & Consultant of IDEALINK) and the other Guests of Honor Akhtar Shaikh (Ameer, JF NRCC), Salman (Managing Director of SAB), Ismail (GM of JAFCO), Layeeq Shaikh (Manager of UIPS) were invited on the dais including Aslam (GM of Majdouie Travels), Dayanand (President, MASA), Salim (President, JF Jubail), Abdullah Manjeri (IISD MC, Dammam), Sheyas (FM, Idealink).

Subsequently, the prize distribution ceremony was hosted by Javed Sayed and announced the winners of Man of the Match awardees who played in Preliminary, Quarters, Semis and Finals Matches. The awards were selected by the Tournament juries and referees headed by Mohammad Siraj, Sports coordinator of JF Dammam Unit.

-              Man of the Tournament won by Muthalib of SAB Warrior.

-              Best Batsman won by Sanjeeva of Khushaim.

-              Best Bowler won by Sameer of SAB Warrior.

-              Best Fielder won by Azmath of Khushaim.

-              Best Wicket Keeper won by Rifdi of SAB Warrior.

-              2nd Runners-up Trophy won by AMACO

-              Trophies were presented to Match Officials and Umpires.

Salman, the captain of SAB Warriors collected the Winner’s Trophy from Hammad Al-Dossary (IDEALINK) and each winning players had collected their individual trophies. The captain of Khushaim collected the Runners-up Trophy from Layeeq Shaikh (UIPS) and the players were distributed with their individual trophies.

Vote of thanks was proposed by Shahul Hameed, ex-President of JF Dammam Unit and ex-NRCC Ameer.

Dubai, Aug 6: Non-resident Indian entrepreneur and philanthropist Dewakara Alva passed away on Thursday August 6. He was 63.

Alva, who hailed from Mangaluru, was the director of Federal Insurance Brokers LLC, Dubai and was residing in Dubai for around four decades. He was reportedly suffering from health problems for last few months. 

He was a patron of Tulu and Kannada language and culture in United Arab Emirates. He was a member of various NRI organizations including UAE Tulu Koota and UAE Bunts

Alva is survived by wife Saritha, daughter Powshali, and son Manal.

Doha: Qatar Indian Social Forum (QISF) once again set an example that no caste, creed, language and religion comes as hurdle for their humanitarian services and helped to perform last rites of Ramesh who committed suicide in Doha-Qatar.

45-year-old Ramesh son of K. Nagan hailing from Panikulam, Thrissur district in Kerala, who was working as a tailor committed suicide in his house at Ruwias in Qatar on 30th May 2020.

On hearing this news, some of his friends in Kearla informed Mr. Shihab who is also from Thrissur and a member of QISF and the same was brought to the notice of QISF humanitarian team head Mr. Abdul Latheef Madikeri and Basheer Ahmed of Tamil Nadu.

Immediately, the QISF team intervened and contacted the family members of the deceased in India and discussed the matter and consequences of sending the body back home to India in this pandemic COVID 19 situation.

Considering the prevailing situation, the family members gave the consent to bury the body in Qatar itself.

QISF team collected the required documents from the family of the deceased and managed to clear all the necessary formalities from the police department, Health Department, Embassy of India and Hamad Medical Corporation.

Finally, the body of the deceased was buried in Qatar on 7th June 2020 and the copies of all the relevant documents have been handed over to the family members.

The family members of the deceased thanked and applauded the leaders and all the members of QISF for their effective and on time humanitarian service rendered even in this pandemic crisis and having no bias.

Dammam: Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka chapter distributed Food Kits for Indian expatriates labors who were in trouble due to Corona lockdown on April 6, 2020 at a labor camp here in Al Khobar.

The labors, most of them are from the staes of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh And Uttar Pradesh, were in trouble without food.

 Recieving the information leaders of Indian Social Forum immediately visited the camp to take survey.

Indian Social Forum with the help of donors distributed food kits. Indian Social Forum, Dammam, Karnataka Chapter president Mr.Mohammed Shareef Jokatte expressed gratitude for donors for their contribution.
