Mumbai, Apr 17: Ace scriptwriter and father of Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan, Salim Khan launched the Urdu version of the BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi’s official website. Salim Khan launched the website on Wednesday morning from his residence in Mumbai.
Salim Khan and his family have been vocal about their support to Narendra Modi and have several times defended the Gujarat Chief Minister on the issue of Gujarat riots.
Earlier, Khan had said that under Modi’s rule Muslims were safe and had pointed that Gujarat had not faced a single incident of rioting in more than a decade now.
To support his statement, Salim referred to the 1992 riots in Mumbai and said no one blamed the Chief Minister for the deaths and also added that no one even remembers the name of the Chief Minister under whose regime the riots took place.
Through an introductory note in a book title ‘Modi, Muslims and Media’, Salim Khan had endorsed the Gujarat Chief Minister and slammed the national media for propagating “anti-muslim” image of Narendra Modi.
Salim Khan’s son, Superstar Salman Khan recently went on record and said Narendra Modi does not need to apologise for the 2002 Gujarat riots.
While travelling across country to promote his film ‘Jai Ho’, Salman Khan had met Narendra Modi in Ahmedabad on the occasion of ‘Makar Sankranti’. The meeting between the two heavy weights of their respective fields had created quite a buzz after pictures of them flying kite appeared in the public domain.
